Damage repair - mobile companies?

Such a stupid thing to do and i'm angry at myself for this one.

I was in a supermarket carpark when some muppet walked in front of me. didn't look, didn't even know I was there.

Some choice language was exchanged, and thankfully I was far enough away to avoid him.

But in doing so I turned awkwardly, over steering, placed my car right up against a bollard.
In the commotion I didn't see it (focussed purely on not hitting him) until I pulled away (at that point it was in my blind spot) not only scraping the paintwork off, but putting a small ding in the rear wing.

I am absolutely gutted, the car was spotless until now, and I was planning to return the car (as part of a lease purchase) to exchange for another.

Are there any decent affordable, mobile damage repair companies? I've heard of dings away, but no-one I know has used them.
We are getting married in a few months, and this was not a planned expense!

Get it repaired properly, as if the lease company see that its a sub-standard repair they will charge you anyway.

Get some quotes and go from there.
"Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!
  • TBH I don't think a lease company can argue sub standard repair when a main dealer has done the work especially if its the exact dealer you got it from who repaired it.

Often what they mean by sub standard is when they measure (with a paint thickness gauge tool) the paint thickness on the cars "usual" ding locations and its thicker than the rest of the car not because it looks bad or anything, but any repair the paint will always be thicker than factory applied paints.

try main dealer for a quote then work backwards form there to get a ball park figure of what it would cost.

what the heck? All this in a supermarket carpark with a 5mph limit?

Hand back your license before you kill someone.

Much better then any comment I could make, thank you.

These things do happen, a scrape at whatever speed is going to cause damage.
In my defence (not that I though I would have defend myself) is that the bollard is in a really poor position and has been hit several times.

    Getting back to the comments.

I am a little concerned about going to the main dealer, should anything get noted, but I will start getting quotes soon. if these mobile guys are bad I will stick to the main garages.

Private repairs with any main dealer is simply that private cash repair. they'll book it in do it and give you a receipt that's it.
