You had a it rejected, you followed the appeals procedure and won, its up to the individual if they want to appeal. Not every individual has the same disability as you, each application is reviewed on their own merits. Nothing can come of this. Move on with your life.
  • And when you do move on make sure you are parked in a proper place with you BB correctly displayed.

Not sure why all the negativity towards the OP here.

There are plenty of examples of councils and other authorities having policies of "bending" the rules on the basis that few people will appeal and they continue doing it until someone makes a stand.

If the Op has the time and inclination to follow this through then fair play to him - something positive might come of it. Or we could all just live our lives saying I'm alright, Jack.

I would suggest you are unlikely to get a satisfactory response from the council. If I felt strongly, as you appear to, I would complain to my local councillor.

I agree, if the MD is unhelpful it will go to the LGO

Thank you for your support Joe, the negativity probably springs from the fact that I own a property company and sometimes, (not always), side with the landowner.

I certainly have the time, and the inclination to topple windmills, but I also have the wherewithal, ability and experience, so to do. My next project is to take a Housing Association to a Tribunal.

It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it.

RBC have come back to me. They have apologised for the stress caused, and agreed to donate £50 to Arthritis Trust., a partial victory.

However, they have not admitted that they failed to follow due process and have not addressed another issue which I raised.

An update, the LGO dismissed my complaint as "I suffered little inconvenience". That is true, but I know how to fight my corner, what about those less able to do so.

However, I am not ready to throw in the towel, I have today asked my MP to take the matter to the PCA.

A further update, my M.P. has agreed to take up the matter with the Ombudsman.
