Discount offer from Talk Talk

Hi all
Ive been with AOL now talk talk for years.
This morning I phoned them for a better deal, and what they offered seemed fair.
The only thing that I dont completely understand is that they told me that if I paid my monthly charge 24 hours before the direct debit date then I would get an extra 10% reduction ie pay £18.00 instead of £20.00,and this was a permanent offer.
I cant see why they would do this, and whilst happy to get a cheaper deal i was wondering if there was any hidden contractual reason for this,as although setting up a direct debit I would not in fact be paying by direct debit.
Perhaps I am just being neurotic ??
Any comments most welcome.

The offer is normally you pay the bill within 24 hours of receiving an e-mail from TT advising you the bill has been produced, not 24 hours before the DD is due, so about a week early.
In my case for the last few months the e-mail has arrived three days after the bill was raised but as I was expecting it I logged into my account on the due day to pay it before I actually received the e-mail. If you don't pay in time you loose the 10% discount.
So enjoy the 10% discount while it lasts, it was 15% originally and who knows then it will go down again or disappear altogether.0
