Focus DIY Closing Down (merged)

A member of staff in Bristol Brislington told me that they were told they would close at the end of March, though they were told a while ago it would be the end of January. Still lots of stuff there, with no decent discounts. Picked up a few cheap things and only got 20% off full price.0

I popped into the Airdrie store last night on the off chance of getting a bargain (they are ads on local radio that its closing soon) and was soo disappointed. For example switches half price -double dimmer ones in silver reduced from £29.99 to £14.99. The exact same ones are in argos at full price of £14.79 AND you get 3 for 2! Also tins of dulux reduced to the bargain price of.... wait for it £12.99. Still dearer than b and q!
The only bargain they had was a bathroom suite (display model) with 75% off so it was £57 odds (think that included taps and everything). looked okay, no obvious damage, though the bath was thick with dust.0 -
my local focus had discounts of 40%-60% before christmas, now it's dropped to 20% throughout store !!! I guess they are going to close in March and need to drag out their dwindling stock0

I went to the Focus store in Prescot, it isn't one that is closing down and they had 75% off wallpapers including jeff banks, lawrence l-bowen (sorry couldn't remember how to spell his name) and linda barker so instead of £10 a roll it works out to be £2.49 a roll.
This includes any paper with a red cross on which is the majority of stock due to new lines coming in soon.
Hope someone else manages to get a bargain!

Does anyone know if Coulby Newham Focus is closing pls ?0

Does anyone know of any stores in the SE or London that have the reduced price kitchens in stock?
I'd like to get an ex display one if possible. Looking at the Focus website my preference is for the Oslo range, followed by Windsor or Shrigley. I don't need many units but would like to get the oak laminate worktop too.
Otherwise I'm off to Ikea....
West Wickham has a few 'made up' cupboards on display but I do not think that they hold them in stock - looked like you had to order them....
I need to find some boxed 30 x 30 slate floor tiles from Focus in the SE (tiles with a square 'hole' in the middle). Yell if you see any - my plans to go 'spotting' have been hit by a friend's personal emergency..... shopping for tiles pales into insignificance......0 -
Hi toffeegirl, I popped into focus in West Drayton today, they had about six boxes of the slate floor tiles with a square hole on the shelf, those were all reduced to £1 so that might be worth a look if you need som2014 20p savers club #2 I've given up trying to keep track of how much that pig eats!

Same here
My local is Taplow. Not much left there now, Outdoor section closed off and so is upstairs.
They are advertising heavily on local radio.
Not a great deal left now.TB0 -
