Morning :hello:

We had a bit of snow last night, it didn't even cover the ground but it looks nice – like someone's sieved icing sugar everywhere :D

I've crunched down the garden (love that sound!) to sort the chickens, they now have extra shredded paper and hay, and fresh water in a plastic tub because the drinker is frozen solid.

It was nice working in the garden yesterday, I warmed up after a few minutes and got quite a lot done. It's a lot colder today so I'll stay indoors. I was hoping the temperature would be about the same today, I want to get back out there and get stuck in. I can reach both washing lines now, lol, so was looking forward to not having washing hanging in the house. Never mind, on the plus side it makes the house smell nice :D

Morning all! We have about an inch of snow, and just had another shower. Boys off to school and DH to work no problems though. Not sure if I shall be venturing out for choir later. DH has his re-organized Scotland trip tomorrow.

Washing machine is on, next on the agenda is making marmalade.
  • Oh my, we have SNOW and it's still snowing hard now, I'm fully expecting to get a white lurcher back in place of the black one I sent out. He loves snow and frost, puts his shoulder and head down sideways and scoots about and rolls in it, doggy humour!!!

I'm busy tidying and cooking today as I'm off Zebra wrangling in the morning and will be AWOL until Saturday afternoon, I'm looking forward to a whole day with him but think I'm going to be tired by the time his Mum comes home, I'm a bit out of practise. The bathroom has had its first coat of wall paint and it's going to be very nice when it's finished. Worth the disruption now I'm out the other side of that even if it was gruesome while it was happening.

Look after yourselves in this snowy weather, it's not destined to last beyond this afternoon but that's a while away so take care, Lyn xxx.

    Morning all,

Snowed pretty hard overnight here in Devon. Car is pretty iced up and the waste pipe is frozen solid. Not sure what 'He Who Works' wants to do today though he did mention popping into the local bike shop to see what they'd got in.

    Onwards and forwards,

    Have a great day all.

Good morning! Have just cleaned the bath with toothpaste! Was raking my brains for enamel cleaner when the toothpaste tube shouted across the room. It is better but still not right. Back is killing me....and is there a solution to cleaning the tiles without climbing on the bath and then getting soaking wet?

Stepson at home. ...if he is on a back to work scheme, is he able to go to the gym on the other day? Can he join a local 5 a side team? A running club in the evening? He would get out of the house, out of a rut and also come over as fit and buzzing at interviews, whatever his age! Just have to be careful of the afterwards drinks! His stress levels might be affecting yours unknowingly. I am enormous and find yoga difficult but still enjoy it.

It is snowy here 'abroad' and I have yaktrax so I can just carry on as usual. Most folks keep their homes stiflingly hot but we have the windows open a little even at -10 at least all morning.

My first sowing of the year was cress from a free packet . I might do the onions tomorrow....a month late for England but I am unsure of the timings here. My neighbours say they plant everything in May! I have to start everything in the flat as the balcony is too cold and there is a foot of snow on the plot .
So a few more jobs to do then a well muffled up walk....less middle would , ake cleaning the bath easier as I could get closer to it:p
Hope everyone has a happy day!

Re stepson.....some council gyms do special deals for those in his situation is what I meant to add.
  • Morning, it snowed before we went to bed last night, OH said it was snowing when he put the light out. Pristine snow on the front except for a little present left by what we now know to be a fox. Anyone know how to deter a fox from carping on our grass?????

Lovely to have a shower that stayed hot and did not degenerate into a half cold trickle. LL phoned last night to make sure the work had been done.

No visit to town today, will go in tomorrow. The market has got very expensive for fruit and veg just now.

No idea what we are going to be doing today but do not think we will be out walking again until the snow goes. Sun is out but very little heat in it.

    Hi everyone,

I've not gone to work as I feel a bit ropey. I also have a rash which would seem to be in the prime spot for shingles - fingers crossed it's not that.

We have snow as well, a rare occurrence for us but DH still went off on his bike to the station, despite me asking him to walk. It's a folding bike and it saves us a fortune in oyster card fares (about £1,000 a year) but I do worry about him cycling in London. DD does as well but won't be in this weather thankfully.

So Today I shall just be pottering, maybe risotto for dinner if I have the right rice, if not scouse pasties.

    Have a good day.

    Afternoon all,

Surprised to wake up to a smattering of snow this morning. Had a bit of a rubbish night last night. DS2 had gone clubbing (for the first time) and DH was really worried and so kept me awake with his shuffling about in bed a lot. The thing is the elder two children used to go before they were legally allowed but he didn't know anything about it. (Bad mother).

Off to the dentist shortly, my infected tooth has started to make it's presence felt, no pain (thankfully) but it's feeling a little 'sensitive' and heavy.

Tomorrow I am helping on a school trip to the London Aquarium and then a river cruise. I'm looking forward to it :)

Slow cooked beef casserole for dinner.
