Dentists Overcharging Patients

Yeah dentists I've been to have all been good and charged correctly (if a follow up for band 2 required they charge band 1 price at 1st appointment and remainder not additional at the follow up).
The hygienist thing is annoying though, technically you can have NHS scale and polish but they NEVER mention it, they always recommend the private hygienist. I think you can fight for the NHS scale and polish and then the dentist has to do it and they claim they do a less thorough job. Saves £35 though. Actually at my last appointment they recommended hygienist but I've been struggling with getting time off work lately and keep cancelling at last minute and for private appointments they still charge you for last minute cancellations so it wasn't worth the risk for me. I forgot about NHS scale and polish and they didn't suggest it as a back up even though I explained why I wouldn't risk the private appointment.Trying to lose weight (13.5lb to go)0 -
sorry I just read you had the inital treatment 2 years ago but even still you shouldn't be asked to pay £1k for an extraction only the band 2 £50.50 I would definitely get a second opinion I honestly think he's not being very honest with you, as an nhs patient you are entitled to treatment for whatever the circumstances and even if your treatment is slightly more in depth then the band 3 £219 covers everything if you look on my first post to this thread on page 1 I have listed every single treatment that each band covers0

're root treatment of a tooth , particularly a molar, is specialist treatment. There is nowhere I know of that has specialist endodontists generally available on the nhs so treatment has to be private. A specialist will charge £600 upwards for 're root treatment of a molar plus the tooth will need crowning after.
Implants are not generally available on the NHS and would have to be private. £1000 is very cheap , £2000 is nearer the norm. Alternatively leaving the space, bridge or denture may be options but you would have to ask your dentist
You have been correctly advised by your dentist from what you have said.0 -

No its not. Gaming is something different all together but is wrongly bracketed with that approach.0
