We've selected Bradenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, City Center Tiergarten, Bohemian District and Alexanderplatz. Then went on to select 4* and 5* and have been given 3* Days Inn Berlin City South.
I'm tearing my hair out here! I'm not sure how we could go about getting screenshots of what we selected? I'm so stressed as we go Wednesday and it doesn't look likely that anything will be done and certainly not before then!
I tried it, and the cheapest I'm getting is £127 per night.
Then I selected 3 star and the cheapest was £52 per night.
I'm trying to replicate your steps as you've written them and the cheapest is £52 and that returns the 3* hotel at £52 per night.
On my MAC it's cmd+shift+3 to screenshot. Not sure how to do it on Windows if thats what you're using?
I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.0 -
I understand that- reviews are okay but it sounds very basic and most of the reviews seem to rave about how cheap it is as the most positive thing. We're celebrating a 3 year anniversary and wanted something a bit more special. I think it's just principle too for me, that we've specified something and been given something else. It is 100% their mistake yet we are paying the price for it. It's a very bad deal in fact on other websites it costs the same to stay there. We would never in our right mind have selected 3* for 55 quid a night as although still cheap many places in central Berlin were charging about that if not cheaper! I'm very frustrated it's a special occasion and I feel tricked and cheated by the company.0

Can you find any other reviews that report the same problem? I can find hundreds of complaints but none reporting the same issue - and this would not be a one off. If you could find more it would at least support what you believe to have happened.0

Masterpoo- this is the weird thing that it accepted the bid with 4&5* selected yet gave us a 3* for the price we had written. It's almost like something funny has happened with the priceline site this one time we've put it through. Because we've used the bidding section at name your price it seems a lot less straightforward.0

tomtontom- This is the thing, I'm having a search and all I seem to find is people just wanting to cancel because they haven't got what they wanted. This isn't the case, this is genuinely what happened and it would happen to me! Just my luck!0

Did you look at the "Preview my offer" page that comes up before you put in the debit card details and bid?
This is the only page that confirms what youv'e selected and it's IMPORTANT you check it.:o
The hotel you won is in the Kreuzber-Bohemian Quarter-which has as it's highest star rating 3*
So your bidding technique was a little off to start with-and maybe you inadvertantly only selected this area when you bid.
Priceline have been known to let you bid again if they think you messed up big time (wrong dates\wrong city) but this (to me) sounds like user error.
Either way you have a hotel (OK so it's not a "bargain") in a wonderful city- so go and enjoy it.
Next time read my guide (from which the MSE guide was written )

The problem is that what you're describing would not just affect one person. Have you got auto complete on your computer, did you have more than one session open on PL? These are possible reasons why this could occur.0 -

I thought of you when I saw this thread Blindman, and your explanation makes complete sense - when you select Kreuzber it will automatically select the 3* category as that is all that is available there.0 -
