does a positive pregnancy test after time limit mean anything?

I am over a week late for my period, but suffer from pcos so this is not unheard of for me, tho normally I'm only 2-3 days late if at all. I've had no PMS symptoms this month but keep getting tummy cramps which lead to nothing.
I done a test this morning and nothing appeared to happen but when I looked at it about 20 mins after doing it there is definitely a very faint but pink line in the test window. I know your not meant to look after the time limit but couldn't help myself.
I'm puzzled by this as I spent several years TTC with ex husband and must've taken at least a 100 tests in that time and never seen a coloured line in test window even after the allocated time. (I know evaporation lines do happen but didn't think they were coloured.)
Has this happened to anyone else? Will test again in morning.

I would test again. I always though coloured lines were positive ones!!0

Not necessarily. I have had similar, and wasn't pregnant. You're going to need to do another test.0

Thanks everyone.
I will do another test in morning using my 1st wee (sorry if too much info!)
Guess that'll tell me one way or another just wondered if anyone had had this happen to them as I've never seen it before on all the tests I've taken.0 -
Let us know the result!!0

That has happened me with two pregnancies, couldn't see nothing at first but when I looked back some time later a pink line appeared and on both occasions it turned out to right, so not wanting to get you two excited it does like a positive result, but do another test in the morning to double check.
Good luckRaven. :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0 -
Lots of tests say disregard after a certain amount of time because it can give a false result due to condensation
Give it another test, if it's positive it will be positive for 9 monthsNewly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
This happened to me! I now have a very healthy 12 year old! x0

Evaporation lines can certainly be coloured depending on the make of test.
You need to test again and use the times given."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
I've had this with all 3 of my pregnancies, tests taken at very early stages with very faint lines that only show after the development time. With my 1st one, I took the test in Tescos loo, it showed negative, I drove home and was about to put it in in the bin an hour later when I noticed a very faint line!
Good luck and let us know the outcome!0
