Suspended by ebay

Good morning

Hello, I have been told that i have been suspended by ebay for breach of there policies I asked what policies they were and for a full explanation and all they said was that i have been suspended indefinitely to protect the ebay community. I asked them under the freedom of information act to give me a full explanation and they refused stating " We've checked your account and can see it was suspended due to concerns about its safe use. Unfortunately we won't be reinstating your account".

Does this constitute defamation of character and can any of you guys help me out on what i can do please...DEANO63....PS If needed i can put up the whole conversation transcript of dialogue....

You have no right under Freedom of information act as ebay is not a public body. You could make a request under the data protection act.

In my experience, ebay don't suddenly suspend people for nothing. What warnings have you received, and what have you been buying or selling on ebay?
  • Ebay have customer purges now and again:

apparantly ridding itself of paying customers is a way to protect what's left of the ebay community.

Shareholders in ebay might not be quite so impressed by the company doing it's level best to self destruct though.

They're not 'purges' - you are just too gullible to fall for all the media rubbish. If people don't meet the standards then they can no longer sell - simples! Although I suspect the OP has done something more serious in this case.

You were banned from selling on eBay so why do you care any more? I did ask you this before but as usual you went quiet. Your seething hatred for eBay is having a serious negative affect on your life. Forget about it and move on, seriously you will be much happier!!

Was it definitely genuine ? I receive about 10 emails a month claiming I've been indefinitely suspended due to concerns... All spam.

I don't really see the point of you posting 15 month old posts about the US site, it's not much help to OP.

That said there isn't much help anyone can give regarding reinstating an account. The only ones who can help are Ebay, so either badger them or give up. There isn't a given right to sell on Ebay, they give and they take away.

Dave is the Ebay soothsayer. Every few months for the last ten years he posts that "the end of Ebay is nigh" with a weird link to some financial report. When the Paypal split comes he'll be in his element with an onslaught of profit warnings to come.
If you keep on poking him, his next step is to accuse you of working for them.

Haha! I think he and I have bumped heads enough times for him to realise I am a happy ebay seller :D (for now - until the next purge of course!)

Everyone else seems to think so.

Are there any other well known events that you'll in denial of?
