If you want to stream audio and then output to 3.5mm then Bluetooth 4 will suffice, yes it used to be bad, but cant send CD quality over BT4 now. Just need to get bluetooth reciever with apt-x and of course the device you send from would also need to support to that to get cd quality. Neet also do the bluetooth reciever which does use aptx

Otherwise, not going to get much else for your price bracket.
Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j

Not much point in having a set of decent speakers if you're going to reduce the quality of the sound with an inferior connection!
Don't start that! How do you know the quality it'll be streamed at over WiFi? Bluetooth is a more common way of streaming music from device to device.

I understand the wifi transfer is "lossless" so surely it must be transferred at the same kbps as is on the phone/laptop? Whereas bluetooth compresses the audio so it will reduce the kbps.

I know bluetooth is more popular but I've heard wifi is better and more reliable. Although the poster above you thinks that bluetooth4 will do the job just as well if there's going to be a 3.5mm connection.

Interesting - hadn't heard of that. Turns out iphone 4s doesn't have apt-x so that wouldn't help though.

From which software to which device. You can't just assume this, it may be getting compressed to 'help' with bandwidth - certainly this is more important for video.
