Exhange sterling for Thai Baht before or after arrival

Going to Thailand for two weeks next month. I'm aware I probably should wait until arrival in Phucket before exchanging sterling for baht, (likely to be better exchange rates in Phucket). Could someone just confirm this? Would it be sensible to change some money before travelling so I have some baht on arrival? Travel FX is presently offering 47.51 Baht to £1.......is this a significant difference to what I would get in Thailand?

Have you done a search of this branch? Currency for Thailand is a topic that comes up frequently.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon

We change cash when we get to Thailand but then we generally have a few hundred Baht with us from the last trip.
I would wait till I got there then change enough at the airport that covers you until you can get to were you going and a time when the exchanges are open.
Looking at the rates that are closer to 49 I suppose thats not bad and possibly close to what you might get at the airport.0
