Plusnet Broadband Router Problem

  • I am with plusnet and have the same problem. I rang the helpline and there is a recorded message saying a lot of customers are having issues and they are working to resolve it, I am assuming that these are the issues they are referring to.

Some what buried on their website was this enlightnening status update on Saturday.

We are currently aware that a small majority of our customersare having problems authenticating their connections.

This is causing higher than expected call queues however our network engineers are looking into the issue at present and we're hoping to have this issue resolved shortly.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

That's a awful lot of people, the outage lasted for 16 hours for me.

    I wonder if they call 49.9999% a small minority:rotfl:

Somewhat different to a huge minority.

I get this sometimes but it seems to rectify itself after a couple of minutes.

Ive had plusnet for 3 months without a problem but the last week my broadband router seems to be playing up, my computer is connected wireless to the router but when I open the browser sometimes I get a plusnet webpage showing "Login
Enter your username and password to access your Technicolor Gateway. " and when I enter my username and password it says they are incorrect, do you think it is a scam webpage

Not being good technically I always, without fail, find Plusnet Technical Support by telephone truly first class. Very patient and helpful staff who always manage to sort the problem for me. I would encourage a call to Plusnet for technical support. Help from this forum has also rescued me +++++++ and is very much appreciated - thank you all.

I gave up on my plusnet router. On my windows tablets most websites wouldn't load unless I disconnected, and then reconnected.

Bought a cheap replacement router from amazon for £17 and its a lot better. The thomson boxes that are shipped with it are rubbish - its a slightly modified version of the one I had with plusnet ADSL, but doesn't seem to have the processing power to deal with all the wifi devices I'm using.

Edit - this is the one I bought

Err, this is just a router isn't it? Just plug the Plusnet modem into it.
