I don't even buy chocolate decorations. If I did they would be fine the first day and the second day the kids would wake up to no decorations and a pile of shiny paper in the bin. I think that may beat you on the rubbish mum front!!

Well having ventured outside I decided against going into the forest and opted for the garden centre
Spent £16 on a tree
and there was a face painter there and ds had a snowman painted on his face. It looks really cute and is all glittery and was only £2.00
then I got some petrol (£15) and milk (£1.70:eek: ) so oops to the finances today but other than the face painting it was all expected costs
and now the fun begins with the decorating .....

Just been to but the screwdriver to get the tree to stay in the stand (£1.60) and then nipped into somerfield for bread and spent £6.00 but did manage to get ds a reduced advent calender (he has one of those fabric ones where you move a star along the numbers each day but really really wanted a choccy one) ... hopefully I won't spend much more today, depends on how it goes at the carnival laterMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

It's not exactly carnival weather is it Benben :rolleyes:Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Its not carnival weather at all !! But ds is very excited about it all ... it goes through the high street (right past where we live) and he saw them putting up merry-go-rounds and things earlier so he's been counting his pennies from his piggy bank
I thought there wasn't much point trying to explain to a 4 year old the importance of saving up for something when theres a wet merry-go-round to be ridden
Finally the tree is in its pot and it is pretty much upright this year!!! Woohoo!!! Its not as big as normal but I think it fits in well with the room and it is a nice shape oneI'm leaving it for a bit to let the branches sort themselves out a bit before I decorate it
I just put some water in the pot at the bottom so it doesn't dry out too quickly and ds said "Is that to give the tree a drink so its got some energy for when it has to look pretty?" Aaaaw, don't you just love em!! So once my tree has got its strength back and is looking pretty I'll try and show you all a pikky :rotfl:Mortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

We went downstiars to the carnival at 5:30 and there were various stalls and stuff with chrtsimassy music ... ds made a beeline straight for the merry-go-round and as soon as it stopped he went stright for the double-decker bus. The ride started and the lady came round to collect the money ... £2   Now I know we are all a bit challenged financially on this board but even so, surely anyone must think this is a bit steep for a 3 minute kiddie ride ?? Ds absolutely loved it though and was beaming every time he came round past me which did make it a bit easier to take  He then persuaded me to buy him some fluffy black light-up rabbit ears   :rotfl: :rotfl: which were another £3
... then the carnival started and that was lovely ... he loved putting pennies in the buckets (I had sorted out the coppers from my purse
) and there was a fire engine and an ambulance and a band in the procession which he loved
He got given a few chocolate coins too
Then on the way back we bumped into a neighbour who gave him a helium balloon as their friend had bought one for their son and they'd already got him one  It absolutely made ds night and he has been showing his balloon round his bedroom since we got back
Ds is now tucked up in bed and I am sat here looking at the bombsite that is my lounge but with a yummy happy feeling of contentment which I haven't had for a few christmasses ... its so nice to finally start to feel "normal" againMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

It sounds like you have had a lovely evening. don't worry about the mess in the lounge too much right now, put your feet up and relax a bit!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Sorry Hypno, too late ... I've just had an amazing burst of energy, the likes of which only my mother normally has, and I've blitzed almost the whole flat !!! :j :j The lounge, kitchen, bathroom and hall have been transformed back to tidyness and my room, which I couldn't even open the door to earlier because of all the "stuff" all over the floor
is now tidy, bed made and everything, and I am now going to tackle the pile that is christmas presents   I have so many "bits" put away for christmas and now it is time to match up the bits to people and figure out what is left to get
Next year I may try and just buy one thing for everyone rather than lots of bits put together to make a present if that makes sense !!
I am sooo pleased with how much I've got done in half an hour, maybe it looked worse than it really was, but once ds is asleep I can get sooo much more done, and it does help when it is quiet on here (and the telly is crap) because then I can force myself off the sofa easier :rotfl:
Loving the new total hypno! :beer:Mortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000
