Yeah, thats quite common actually. The only advice I can give you on that one is to make sure you keep doing what your doing, letting him know he is much loved etc.
With my nephew he went through that when very little due to him being English and going to an Welsh only speaking school. So I guess he really had little chance of expressing himself. Often behaviour like that is frustration and anxiety related.
Have you got a reward chart. Like they do on supernanny type programs. Let him know that it pleases mummy when he goes to school and mummy is told what a good boy he is. Obviously this is more for end of summer, but you could always start it a little earlier with other stuff.
It's what we did with my nephew and it helped him. When he does well he gets rewarded either with a trip, his fav food, toys or whatever treat type thing you like. When he didn't do well at school and he acted out. If I was about I would take him to one side, ask him for a cuddle and explain I loved him very much and he was in no trouble. However, I couldn't give him a sticker for his chart because his teacher said that x, y and z had happened. Could he tell me why?
Initally it was heart breaking cos he'd get upset and couldn't tell me. So I'd cuddle him more and play a game instead. But I'd try and explain that if he could tell me what the problem was I might be able to help.
As it turned out he didn't like going to school on his own etc. I told him that I didn't like going to work either, but I had to do it so that I could do all the other things I wanted to do, like read a book (he loves reading). So he said he would make me a sticker chart and I could be rewarded for going to work.
Anyway long story short, we both got stickers and when we reached our target we got a reward. lol. My sister adapted it slightly but used it for years with him.
Perhaps its an idea that might work for him in future. Bless him, I wouldn't be a child these days for all the tea in china. Such hard work!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Oh benben, this sounds so hard for you to have waited to find out how he was and what was going on. Poor little mite.... I'm glad he was okay-ish by the end of the day. He's still so tiny, only four years old, school must be quite a stress for him. (A family story is told of me being allowed to go to school aged 4 years 9 months - I was dying to go, because there was a baby at home, and my beloved elder brother was at school already. I used to fall asleep at the dinner table. Into my food).2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hello all, just realised I haven't posted yet today
Well I took ds to school this morning and he was a totally different cild in the playground; he told me he was going to be sensible today and he stood by the door lining up for 10 minutes before they opened it, everyone else was running around like mad things and he just stood there all grown up like, I was soooo proud
Then I went to Tesco and collected his birthday pressie and the binand spent another 27.00 on shopping
but his included the last 2 Cath Kidston bags they had as they will go on ebay
I sold the one on there this morning for 6.99 :j
I've done quite a bit round the flat this morning although theres still loads more to be done. So far I've done one load of washing, loaded and put on the dishwasher, cleaned the bathroom, tidied and cleaned the kitchen, cleaned out the guinea pigs and tidied my bedroom.
I've also phoned up about the NI stuff and they said its not a problem, they'll send me out a form which I just complete and send back. Glad I didn't just pay it now
AND ... I've just sent an email to cutie teachernothing special, but he's left now but left his email address on the board for all staff, so it would be a shame not to use it ....

I spoke to ds teacher when I collected him and she said he'd spent most of the day crying
this is really unlike him, he hates anyone seeing him cry:o She thinks it was just all the buildup and excitement of the end of term:o
Since we came home he's been lovely, we were going down the beach but he had a bad nosebleed just as we were about to go so we stayed in and watched Monsters Inc instead
I managed to get his bedroom sorted too so the majority of the obvious housework is now done:D I also managed to get another 12 questions done on aqaMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Sounds like he finds 'change' difficult maybe? He is obviously aware that he won't be going in that class again and has to start with a new teacher after the hols etc. Although I don't know you or your son I kind of feel relieved that the poor little mite is not going to have that teacher again and that hopefully his new teacher will be more sensitive to his needs and respect the fact that he must be one of the youngest in the year and some of the others are bound to be more emotionally mature as some of them will be nearly a year older.
Well done with getting back to the aqa by the way
