Today we did some bits and pieces this morning (including listing 4 items on ebay
), and then went to my mums. We found a grass snake and a frog living in her garden  then went up the forest for a bit followed by a roast dinner at hers
She also gave me 25.00 towards ds birthday party next weekend  I explained I'd already sorted most of it and she didn't need to but she insisted. I'm not counting it in my challenge but it will still be really useful as I am probably going to go overdrawn this month
Time to catch up on here and plan my attack on the flat over the next 2 days while ds is at schoolMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Forgot to mention, today has been a no spend day; the car park at the forest was 2.00 but while I was rummaging for change a guy came up and gave me his ticket (still had 2 hours left on it), so I didn't have to spend anything today :beer:Mortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Morning
Today should be a very productive day, ds is at school so I "should" be able to get on without him aorund, however, best laid plans and all that ....
I'm going to drop him off at school and then go on shopping to get bits for his birthday and have a peek at any sales still going onThen its project-blitz-the-flat, in a once-a-year-deep-clean kinda way
Summer challenge will take a backseat today but hopefully once the place is tidy, clean and organised, I might (a) find some bits to ebay along the way, (b) be more motivated to make money if I'm working in clean, pleasant surroundings:rotfl:
Right, time for a coffee before we set off, have a good dayMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Well done on the NSD yesterday - and :T to the man and the parking ticket - love people who do that! I managed a NSD yesterday in spite of being out at a local country fair - got free entry as was involved in the dog section - and was so busy doing that that didn't have time to go and look at anything else!
But we had a great day - someone had their horsebox on site so we had tea and coffee on tap and the head trainer brought us some tasty treats. Who needs the expensive food stalls?!
Hope you have a productive day benben0 -
Sounds like a good day all round! I had to just kick back at home, was really tired... liked it tho! NSD for me too, got a lift to a friend's, and took a storecupboard bottle of wine.
Have a good one!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Ooh, "once a year deep clean".....are words that I don't think will ever apply to my house, sadly!
Have a good day, and hope you discover lots of lovely ebayable stuff!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Well its not all gone to plan at all
I took ds to school this morning instead of to breakfast club as I didn't have to go to work, and he was fine till we got in the playground, and as more kids arrived he was getting "stranger", ie. running about screaming ... nothing too unusual for a 4yr old but a marked difference in behaviour to before we reached the playground. Once they open the doors we have to take them into the classroom, and he ran in there, puched 2 chairs over and hid under a table. The teacher and I then spent 10 minutes trying to calm him down, he was shouting, arms and legs flailing etc, just like he was out of control ... not like a mad thing but clearly agitated / anxious. Eventually I left but I have been worried sick ever since, I'm dreading what might have happened today since I left him
I went shopping afterwards to try to take my mind off it all, I spent 13 in Next, 3 in M&S and 3 in Asda, and for that lot I got: 4 x vests for ds, a stripey t-shirt for ds, a jumper for ds, a t-shirt/jumper combo for ds, 2 pairs of shorts for ds, a long sleeved top for me and 2 jumpers in Next reduced to 2.00 each which will go on ebay later in the holidays
I've just had my lunch and have now got an hour and a half before I go and collect him. I haven't even thought about any housework yet either. I must ring up about the NI stuff tooMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Awww....Ben, let us know how he got on today. I've studied a lot of child behaviour (and am a teacher) and am really interested in the way pupils display their emotions.
My nephew had some strange behaviour traits when he was little. It turns out it was a result of a number of things. But hes turned out to be quite badly dyslexic (don't think I'm saying your little un is), so even though he's 13 now he's still not good at expressing his emotions. So I've spent a lot of time helping him learn to use his voice. Obviously, at 4 your little un is still learning how to tell you how he feels.
Like I say, let me know how you get on with him. And I hope hes ok, I'm sure he will be. Has anything like that happened at the start of the school day before?Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Thanks Twinklie
Well he had an okay day, a few minor hiccups but not as bad as some other days apparently  His teacher is fairly sure he has anxiety/separation issues and can't express his emotions in another way
Tomorrow is the last day of term for him so hopefully we'll get through that without to many problems then I've got 6 weeks to hope he grows out of it
