Oh yes I like Poppy & Daisy. Much classier than my suggestion.

I think little piggy is doing okay, but I'm not exactly an expert in these things ;):D I'm still rather bewildered by it all, I called the pet shop and they were very good about it all and said I could return mum and baby, but I couldn't do that, they're mine :o:o

Off to look at them again :o back later :D
And thanks for that Tigz, made me feel well old :rotfl: :D:D:D

Wow a baby pig - they are so cute aren't they? I'm no expert - my mother's were feral so we never got involved in the mother-baby thing - but one of my colleagues is a guinea officianado so will ask her tomorrow. Am guessing baby should be nursing - though maybe they not only look like mini adult piggys but behave like them too?! Hope the little one is OK still.

These two links have some useful info about caring for baby guinea pigs!

  • I used to breed them. Well not personally...

Mums are usually quite good, but you need to get little ones sexed (M or F) as soon as poss, as they will breed with the mother if they are male. Also males can be a bit territorial and will scrap. Although i had two that lived in their hutch together for a couple of years, and the rabbit...it was a massive hutch and they were all good together.
