Checking in after a day at work. I got £5 in tips today so that is £7.50 in total for the whole weekend. I have spent all of it on food so it is free food effectively. Got 2 lurpack, a raspberry cheesecake & yesterday's went into sausages and amazingly £10 worth of ham for £1.
Found 3p today on route home.
Going to spend the next hour watching Despicable me with little man before bathtime. Night all.

Thrifty we used to eat more meat than we do now, but since moving house its a 15 minute drive back to our butchers so I will not go there more than once a month. We get a whole chicken, burgers, sausages, bacon, mince, pork chops for £15 then I usually get chicken breast and a joint of meat so it comes to about £25 in total. I make it stretch as many meals as possible and also add some meat-free days in now and again. As for top up shops, I put my foot down now and just won't do it. We ran out of kitchen roll a few days ago and I have refused to go and buy it because I know we will come out of the shops with £10 worth of stuff that we just don't need! Forgot to mention, I also stock up on veg when it's on offer and prep and freeze it. For example, I have carrot and turnip in the freeze at the moment. It saves me money and time doing this.0

Today has been a SFD. Took left overs to work for lunch and bulked it out with extra veg. Also managed 2 and a half glasses of water. Made 3 trips up and down the stairs (4 flights) for exercise. Tonights meal was as planned and freed up some space in the freezer. Need to prep tomorrow's lunches before I crash for the night. Can't decide whether to dedicate my 15 minutes a day to my studies or to 'me' time. I have already done some studying today so tonight it will be me time.
EDIT: spent my 15 minutes getting my uni files into some sort of order.0 -

Lilt pampering and sleeping sound eminently sensible uses of your 15 minutes a day. If you are well rested you will work better and more efficiently, have more time for jellytot and more energy to put into everything you do. You have been working when you were in pain and this should help your body recover. We have all battled through various lurgies and bugs and need to conserve our energy.
Read a book once (I have read a book more than once) and the author made the point that if you had a dog you would feed it regularly, if you have a car you put petrol in and check the oil every now and then but when it comes to ourselves we rush around, eating on the hoof, not sleeping when we need to and then wonder why we feel bad or fail to perform as well as we think we should.
I have winter skin + still trying to correct the damage done to my lower leg by the horrible rubber stockings. Yesterday I had already put the heating on to warm the bathroom enough to strip off but was wondering how I would manage with two boys in the house. When they decided to go out I dived in there, washed then returned to the bedroom to smother all the neglected bits in E45 and after sun cream before layering up again. I was thinking about mentioning pampering in one of my mini challenges. I don't do much but have such dry skin that moisturising properly is essential, feel guilty every time I look at my poor hands (and the E45 pump is by the side of the bed).
Bobarella August is yours and well done on funding your food shopping through your tips. I need to get my thinking cap on because the amount of money in my purse doesn't cover my budget for the month (hoping I can make it to Mr S soon and find a kind assistant who will check how many nect*r points I have - was doing surveys to earn them and it's been a while since I could walk that far so hoping it might cover the wholegrain rice I need and a few YS veg).
I have done my exercise by tackling another bit of the ivy. Was outside over an hour but after getting a few branches down (some sawn, some part sawn then pulled down from below) I sat at the garden table (5 branches covered a 6' x 4' table) to chop them into bits for the green bin. Ideally I could do the same amount again and then tackle the thick branch with my big tree saw - have been using the small folding one mostly, was too tired when I got to using the big saw so stopped.
The ivy looks a bit sorry for itself but all the healthy growth was 12' in the air and it should be covering the back wall so I have something to look at when I'm washing up. Originally it was to hide the multi storey car park but they've flattened it again.
Not spent any money, fed the boys from the freezer but had to supplement the planned meal with bacon - they are large boys and DS3 only eats once a day. As a bonus I found two more 2 slice packs of bread hidden under the meat so can probably make it through the week without buying a loaf (these are from the 2 large seeded and 3 small toastie loaves I bought on December 20th).
Will be back later - with a challenge. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Evening all,
Sorry I've been MIA on a weekend away
- The Challenge will commence on the 1st February @ 00:00 and end on the 28th February @ 23:59 – I know the challenge started last night however I have broken most rules today as it was the second day of my birthday weekend away with the girls. I promise to be better from now on!
- Set your DFD (Debt Free Day) – I will be DF by January 2016 (I am determined) so 31st December 2015 :j
- You will pay towards your debt FIRST and live on what’s left. Choose the amount now – paid off £438.82 on payday and will use any extra income towards the debt too.
- Random Rule for February 15 minutes a day– I am going to spend 15 minutes tidying each day as this is something that would then hopefully help me stress less
- Aim for 15 SFD (Spend Free day or No Spend day) – will do, managed 17 last month, so 15 as a minimum
- Focus on changes you need to make – I need to be debt free, I need to lose weight and increase my fitness, which will help my confidence in my body image
- Food budget should be set realistically (ideally at same level as last month or lower unless you have extra mouths to feed). - £240 for 2 adults, 5 dogs and a cat
- You will NOT use any of the following; takeaways, restaurants, cafes, work canteens, vending machines, Starbucks, Costa, Nero or any other chain cafe! – broken this today (3 times!) but will stick to it from now on
- Lunch to work everyday and plan for appointments and days out. – this is my main challenge, must take LTW everyday!
- Travel budget – petrol or public transport for work, leisure, hospital appointments. Can you walk/cycle? Can you combine journeys – shopping/ work/ gym? - Petrol = £120 (drove to girls weekend away this weekend)
- Any other regular budgets – children's activities etc. Misc/personal = £300 (includes paying for a hen do later in the year, accommodation this weekend, my tax bill, and an annual subscription)
- Healthy eating – up your fruit and veg. If you are already getting your 5 a day (if not why not?) go for 7. Will make you feel better (especially if free or ys) and may help ward off all those annoying bugs which come with the changing seasons. – intend to go shopping tomorrow to make this possible
- Make a food bank donation (choose your own amount) – will do, will donate soup to a homeless charity’s soup kitchen
- Exercise 5 times a week, newbies and poorlies start with 10 minutes a day, get outdoors wherever possible – I have actually started this one! Did two dog walks and lots of walking whilst shopping today

Hello guys!!
mothernerd I find, funnily enough with my weird psoriasis in tiny patches on odd places, and dry hands/face from the weather that e45 actually makes me worse!!I have hemp hand cream, blister relief cream for my poor lips, and apart from my amazing retinol face cream which I try to use regularly I tend to really neglect myself. I just got out of a shower after having a good scrub and am going to take the time to do it all now before an early night.
SFD #1 in the bag. Amazon primed for tomorrows monthly payment to nursery, as it is a spend day I will also pick up bread and milk and that should hopefully last me the weekif not, I have UHT in the cupboard and I have plenty of bread flour
Am off to pamper and go to bed. Night night all xx

Hi All,
Today was a spend day as needed a couple of items but hopefully nothing else needed until at least Wednesday.
I'm working on my budgets and the rest of the rules and will post them tomorrow.
Not been feeling well today, women's problems, so instead of taking 15 minutes for myself I just had a very lazy day. All I have managed to do is cook dinner and clean up afterwards.
On our way shopping we went to visit some friends and I spent a lovely half hour cuddling some 8 week old puppies. Friend was asked to hand rear them as they were rejected by mum. They were so cute. I could of taken them all home with me but sensible head won through, apparently 5 dogs, 4 chicken and a parrot are quite enough pets for one family :rotfl:
Having a nice early night so nite nite all

Have had a look at my budget and come up with the following:
Debt free day 30/06/16
Food budget £300
Petrol £120:eek:
Birthdays -husband sister and nephew £40 (husband had combined Xmas / birthday present at Christmas so just a CD or something small for him).
School trip £8
Cubs £22
I always take lunch to work, unfortunately my daughter has a disability so I do rely on the car a fair bit so bike/walking not an option.
Have managed 9km on the treadmill tonight, so off to a good start on the exercise, although the easy bit will be the fruit and veg! I'm an addict, have at least 7 a day already!
I shall spend my 15 minutes doing Pilates and yoga, could do with some chill out time each day.
Nearly managed a NSD but slipped up and got my daughter a kinder egg....0
