Believe me Justin, I know nearer £1000 would make all the difference
But even £800 is pushing it for what I have in my bank at the mo ;-)

If you're not handy with a spanner I'd prefer to go for later and lower mileage car.
I bought an old wreck tdi for £600, but kept it going with gaffa tape and bodging. Lasted 2 years them threw it away.
I would search for owners reviews on autotrader etc0 -

That is an ideal price range for me, and just on the couple of reviews I just read on it, it sounds ideal.0 -
Must have an old tomtom one in the glovebox!
Test drive a couple, see how they suit you0 -

On my third vag 1.9 tdi. You can tell the state of my finances on whether I have an M car or a vag tdi
It's the no brainer good reliable old diesel, with good economy and a little poke.

Only 30,000 hours (3.42 years)
If they last so long why are you on your 3rd?

Should have bought a Mondeo
30'000 hours - say average 40mph = 1.2 million miles
On my third as I've had an M3 and M5 in between
Looked at mondeos, but wanted something decent0
