Appliance repair issues - What are our rights?

Options
Hi all,

I am not sure if this is in the correct thread - apologies if not!

We have had an ongoing issue with an electrical appliance that broke down under warranty. We have had 4 repair visits and are waiting for the 5th one to be booked, and the issue is still not solved and the appliance has not been usable for weeks.

I wanted to know if there's any guidance on the site, or if anyone can provide any advice on our rights here? As you know, taking a day off to wait for a repair person is costly, and 5 days is just a bit too much. How many repairs can they attempt before it's too much? What rights to compensation do we have?

Thank you!

If it's the same issue I'd be on the phone speaking to someone more senior ... you're being far too patient allowing them a 5th attempt.

A few years ago we had a washing machine that refused to spin most of the time. After maybe 3 repair visits I politely told them it was unacceptable ... they agreed. We then got a 'voucher' to spend on a new one at the original retailer.

Hi - thanks so much for your reply.

Yes, it's for the same issue. I can't take being on the phone with different departments any more, so I have emailed the complaints department and the CEO.

I'm just wondering if there's any legal guidance on this, like with missed deliveries and collections, which Martin talks about on the site?

    Thanks!
