Two gorgeous kids and I wouldn't be saying no to the wee one either but then for some it's easy to criticise other parents.:j0

They've also acknowledged that they need to change back to more reasonable eating habits now that she's getting better.
Even when she was ill she should never have been allowed free rein in the supermarket like that. Yes let her have some treats but she was choosing things I can guarantee she wouldn't eat.The world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -

I didn't see the first bit, unfortunately. But I can see how bad habits could build up easily, esp when you're primarily focussed on a child's illness.Mortgage when started: £330,995

She wasn't just picking things like chocolate and crisps. She was also choosing fresh pasta, cheese and various other foods. When their bill came to just under £200 they need to keep what she is allowed to choose to a minimum or stop it totallyThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -
Hope they stick to this, then they can take the kids away:D"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

This programme is totally unbelievable. Where on earth did they find Branston Beans at 56p per can. Lidl sell 4 cans for £1.25.
Where we live in Scotland meat from the butcher is far more expensive than the supermarket. However, I do find that buying meat/chicken from Costco works out at good value for good quality.0 -
The little one had leukaemia, and had undegone both chemo and steroids. Poor little poppet.
No wonder the parents were soft with her.
They were a nice loving family, the children were delightful, the dad was loving and caring, can't see a problem with him calliing his girls Darling.
That family have been through hell, no wonder the budgeting went awry. It would be the last thing on my mind if it were my little one.
As for the mother seeming a bit vague, well who wouldn't be., given the circumstances. She must have been worried sick about her child.
If I were in her shoes then shopping lists and meal plans wouldn't be top of my agenda.0 -
I don't think they should have let her put absolutely anything she wanted to in with the shopping, nothing to stop them picking treats out for her that she would actually eat rather than them throw away, which was the aim of the programme.
I was more bothered about her being allowed to throw a huge bottle of juice into the basket on top of a load of crushable food :eek:0 -
I switched off when I got to the bit with her chucking out food that she had only just put in the freezer. I even removed the series link from my Tivo box so it will no longer record the programme. It annoys the hell out of me so I won't be watching Greg Wallace or his sidekick again.0
