  • I suggest you repost on the parking thread and onto pepipoo.com. This is merely a private parking issue and is usually knocked on the head quite easily.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

The solicitor I spoke to said they had pictures of "me" leaving the car park on CCTV (Which should be interesting as I know 100% they don't)
What they mean is that they have pictures of a car bearing the same registration plate as yours. No more, no less.

No, the truth is that there is an entry in their database claiming that your car was there.
As you weren't there, the most likely explanation is an error between the photo and the database, it is possible though much less likely, that your number has been cloned.

Or they have a picture of a car with a similar plate, or an obscured plate.

You'd need to see the picture to confirm, but the odds are it's not cloned and not even a Focus.

I wouldnt have even bothered to contact the solicitors. They have no powers or authority.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

We had this problem with a car we bought from a dealer a few years ago, we got a charge for not paying the London Congestion charge, at the time the car was parked all day in full view of the staff at my wife's office, I wrote back that we were over 200 miles from London and had numerous witnesses as to where the car was that day at the time of the alleged incident, they agreed to cancel the charge.

Two months later we had another from Haringey Council, once again we had proof that we were no where near Haringey that day, I phoned them and they stated they had a photo of the car, when I asked for the details I turned out it was a completely different make of car with the same plate, I told them to check the details with the DVLA which they did and they cancel the charge.

I reported it to my local police who stated they would inform the Met. but there was not much they could do unless they actually spotted the car, in the end I contacted the DVLA and they agreed to issue a new registration number which stopped the problem.
