A spokesperson for O2 confirmed that the deal would not affect existing O2 customers.
I'm a bit worried that all that extra traffic may impact O2's network .
Does O2 have spare capacity for an extra11.5 million customers
Nice to know group chief executive at Sky rates O2 as "best quality".0 -
And or O2 may be sold any time now to HW.0

I hate bundle 'deals' talk about putting all your eggs in one basket. Just makes it harder when you want to leave. I guess that is the idea so you carry on paying Sky for ever and ever to avoid any hassle.
Also I left o2 3 years ago after being with them ever since the BT Cellnet days as the network was oversaturated in my area. Dropped and failed calls all the time and hours to receive texts. Apparently it is still like that too.0 -

Does O2 have spare capacity for an extra - or will Sky invest in network upgrades?

Yes because all of Sky's 11.5m customers will sign up for a mobile deal..They would be lucky for a 5% uptake for quite a while to begin with!

Somehow I don't think you need to be concerned about the capacity of O2's billion pound (?) infrastructure. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
So I am with Sky now for landline and calls, (talk unlimited I think it's called) and broadband and the telly.
I am with EE for my mobile. I have a hand me down iphone on a £7 per month contract - I don't make many calls and use the net mainly on wifi.
I am pretty satisfied with all the above and I don't much fancy switching to O2. However if BT came up with a really good bundle including fibre I might just be tempted to jump ship. I took a chance renting my line from Sky to save a few quid per year but I'd feel more confident as a BT customer if my line was faulty.
The BT telly package is comparable to Sky and provided the box is simple to operate with live pause, record / record series etc buttons, I'd be off.0 -

I had a faulty line last month and it was fixed by BT Openreach within 24 hours.

I am a Sky customer.
Fair enough but is your line rental from sky?
Were BT customers affected too?
Mine is Sky rented, and when my internet speed was dreadful, sky wouldn't send out a BT engineer to check the line unless I undertook to pay the fee if there was nothing wrong. I knew where that would take me so I hung on and it improved eventually. I might be wrong, but I felt if I had been a BT customer, things might have been different?0
