The OP, unfortunately, is completely delusional.

He ain't going anywhere near Uganda.

Unless its to meet numerous women........
  • Suicide Bob and Getting.......WOW! Are you guys on crack? Is this how you behave in real life, mocking someone who dares to ask a question, no matter how crazy you deem it to be??

How on earth is someone asking a genuine question "Delusional"? What are you basing your ridiculous comments on?

OK it may appear that we're picking on the OP but trust me he has form.

If you don't believe me then just do a quick search of his posts (ones in the marriage & relationship board are usually entertaining)

You're the only one here that sounds like they're on drugs.
  • I've been to Uganda several times, but the last time was 3 years ago. If you're still interested I'll certainly tell you about my experiences and opinions. To be brief - very friendly people, but majority live in poverty and abject poverty in the villages. Of course there are rich ugandans too and some europeans who are aid workers. Good rate of shillings to the £ right now. You will need to be alert though - if you do not have black skin, you will stand out a mile and will be thought of automatically as rich. I never had problems but I did have a Ugandan national to accompany me lots of places as I was working for a charity.

Sadly it is unlikely kingslayer will get further than his front room. These grand ideas of his have been mooted for some time, and he is still no further than when he joined :o

I have friends that climbed Kili whilst working out there. Way beyond my capabilities but it certainly sounded amazing. I hope you get to fulfil your quest soon ;)

(When I read this thread yesterday the point about the OP had been made by another poster - it seems their posts were pruned from the thread.)

If the guy has form or is delusional, just move on, don't bother commenting.

Behave as you would in real life, and if this is how you behave in real life, go forth and prosper!

Hey, I'm considering visiting uganda by myself

    Of course you are.

Go for it. If you are sincere then you should be able to cope with whatever Uganda throws at you.

    Please report back:D

Why didn't you lot say at the beginning! Berating and abusing the delusional is so much fun - I could have joined in...

You're the sort of traveller I like. You will have an amazing journey, just stay safe, be vigilant about your safety and enjoy.

I had honestly never ever thought of Uganda until you mentioned it and I googled. Now I'm open to the idea?!?!?! South Africa is a beautiful country, so try to explore beyond CT......Kruger National Park, Durban, PE for whale watching, the Garden Route (did it once, will NEVER do it again, I hate being stuck in a car for hours), Ballito Bay, Knysna Forest, Tsitsikama, I could go on......

I have Tanzanian friends and on my bucket list is Mount Kilimanjaro. It looks amazing. Look at tagging Zanzibar to that trip.

A Colleague is going to Gambia in a few weeks, he's heard good things about it. Kenya is supposed to be FAB too.

Africa is a huge continent, lots to see, lots to do.

That's cool that your colleague is going to Gambia. I went to Gambia a couple years ago and it was my first time in Africa. I actually wanted to return in the future, but after finding out that a Gambian that we'd made friends with was telling us lies, i decided i didn't want to go back; although i probably will eventually.

The one thing i didn't enjoy about Gambia was the constant hassle from the "bumsters" who basically keep pestering you to buy things from them. it definitely gets quite irritating when you're walking along the beach and every 50ft one or two (or more) come out and bug you to buy their products.

I have always had a fascination with Africa though, mainly due to watching documentaries when i was younger and seeing all the wild animals roaming about.

I would like to tour South Africa, so those places your suggested i will look into if i go to South Africa. I have never travelled alone, but i feel it's the right time to start branching out and exploring the world if other people aren't willing to join me, and i could always meet people while solo travelling too.
