I opted for the secondary glazing with acoustic glass, which I fitted myself (I'm not great at diy but it was pretty easy to do)
The difference it has made to the traffic noise outside our bedroom is incredible, and we're not disturbed at all at night. It is noisier in the en-suite than in the bedroom and the en-suite doesn't have any windows, just a fan for the shower but obviously noise comes through there.

Unfortunately not all windows are installed well so may not be sealed to the wall properly with just the silicone hiding it.

I can say cavity wall insulation did make a difference for me, the must be some data out on the internet somewhere, did you install it before the windows went in?

External beading means the windows are before 1996 at least.

The user you asked hasn't logged in for over 2 months so they may well not see this question. You could try sending them a PM which may flag up in their emails.
