Clever way to buy TV with added after sales protection?

So I want to buy a new TV. I've done my research and chosen the model I want, but its only being sold through Curry's. Damn. Too many VERY bad after sales experiences with this company is stopping me from going ahead and buying. But I really, REALLY want that TV! My question, is there a smart way to buy it from Currys that would give me added protection?
Unfortunately, I don't have a credit card so my purchase wouldn't be protected by section 75. I'm aware of the charge back schemes that debit cards run, but refunds are based on the company accepting responsibility. Experience has taught me that Curry's aren't so great with that! Is there an avenue I've not thought of???
Thanks

If you're buying a TV, John Lewis or Richer Sounds are the best national chains.
IMHO
Why is it only available from Curry's?0 -
Yes , would only buy from the above , no way of protecting yourself from poor after sales
Both richer sounds and JL normally check in 5 years warranty that are actually worth more the paper they are printed onEx forum ambassador

My pro-trick is to get John Lewis to price-match a TV at another retailer - and then get their 5 year warranty
I've had two JL tvs; both had minor problems after a few years (one had the power-button break, the other was more serious and needed a motherboard replacement)
I even got a replacement TV whilst they took mine to get fixed.0 -
I think its a discontinued model, so supply is limited. I'm a little obsessive when I purchase technology. Spent hours researching and my heart sank when I found out that they could only be bought through currys. I'm in the process of trawling the internet in the hope that I'll find one elsewhere!
Never has a piece of technology tested my shopping principles!!

Available on Amazon marketplace from several sellers from £314 quite a saving over Curry's. But can't recommend the seller as I have never used them. Or why not get the model from Richer Sounds for £30 extra but including a 5 year guarantee? Looks like the similar TV with a larger screen.0 -
Oops, I just bought the bigger 42" version from Richard Sounds. At least my principles remain intact!! Thanks for the feedbackNovember wins...a book, a designer handbag (worth £550 :T) and a game. I am now an addict and thank everyone for taking the time to share and post.0
