Well thats not what they told me and thats not what the website says so im not sure where you got that from.
Thanks for the reply anyways
To be honest, getting a mortgage for a house share? If you ever want to leave because you fall out with housemates etc, you're going to have a nightmare of a time. I'd avoid it and try and get your own place somewhere.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

I just signed up to Experian online, filled in a form and within 24 hours they sent me an email saying I could log in and view my file, was really simple?
Is that not how it's meant to work?
No. It depends on which of Experian's products you choose. Experian's online statutory report is not instant access and requires a passkey that is sent in the post. Their CreditExpert subscription service is instant access.0 -
I was in a similar position with the PIN. I ordered it, it never arrived, then I moved. 8 months later (I know, I know) I'm seeing this money go out for the online service that I can't (and never could) access because I never got the PIN.
I rang them up and the chap I spoke to was brilliant. He explained that for security they couldn't resend a PIN to a different address so I wouldn't be able to use the free 30 days. Accepted, I should have done something sooner. Then without prompting he arranged for all the money I had paid to be refunded. Couldn't have been more helpful.

I wouldn't be showing anyone my credit file. If they want to see it they can apply themselves to view the public data.
If they weren't happy with that I wouldn't buy the place.0 -
I agree they are crap. Just ordered my statutory report online, will be able to view it online, but they are sending me a PIN in the POST. This is despite the fact that I ordered my statutory report a few months ago using the same details, so no need to send it in the post again really. It's just to slow things down I think and try to convince you to sign up to their monthly rip off service.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

I agree with you on this one. Ordered my statutory report from them middle of last year, PIN wasn't sent out, had to contact them again, finally got the PIN to view my data. The irony is by the time I finally got the PIN I was viewing a report an month out of date as they give you the report on the day that you ordered it. Might as well have asked for a postal report.
Went online again this month to have another check that an old default had dropped off and lo and behold the same problem, took two weeks to receive my PIN.
So even if you have ordered a report with them before they still insist on using this antiquated system when both Equifax and Callcredit allow instant online access once they have verified your identity.
I definitely believe it is so that you sign up for the £14.99 per month rather than go through the pain of attempting to get your statutory report. They should be forced to move in line with the other agencies.0
