Whether it'd be legal to drive it to/from the garage/storage with/without MOT/tax or whatever - it is ALWAYS illegal to drive an unroadworthy vehicle.

The one thing it MUST have while being driven to and from the test station is insurance otherwise it has to be trailered.

Well obviously I will observe any failures, but dont expect it to fail on anything major.

Is it insured? Nephew having issues insuring a car thats SORN and thinking of buying.

BUT... He is not the owner and a young driver. So that maybe more of an issue.

Might as well sort the fails and sell it with a year's ticket, then. If the fails are minor and don't affect the roadworthiness, they won't be expensive to sort.
