Yes and they sell in the UK for £600, that's over $900. Even accounting for research and marketing etc that is still a healthy margin.

    And? What's the problem?

Its not like Apple don't have competition...they have made a product that people are prepared to pay more for, because it works well. I don't own any Apple products, but I don't have any irrational hatred of Apple just because they make a lot of money from their products...
Faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

I have admitted apple is very clever in their marketing and have clearly brainwashed a lot of people into thinking their products are the must have things when clearly there are products out there that do just as good a job for a lot less money.

Apple has become the designer brand of the technology world. It's trendy to have an apple logo on your product.

I'm not that sure you can fault a company for distributing profit to its employees. After all, John Lewis similarly avoided paying corporation tax on £202.5m worth of staff bonuses last year, and no one has a bad word to say about them.

I've got no problem with companies paying generous bonuses. Profits are taxed at 21%. Bonuses are taxed at at least 20%, but top earners will be paying 40% or 45%, so more income for the treasury.

presumably, all those that think Apple produce high priced rubbish, using child labour in third world countries, would be embarrassed for the Uk government to receive tax from such a source.

Yes, a Dacia or Yugo will also take you from point A to B, but somehow people still buy Beemers, Mercs, Jags and Audis. Brainwashed, all of them!
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

If Apple gave out bonuses to the tune of £43m then income tax will have been paid by all of the recipients.

Happy staff, plenty of tax paid to HMRC. What's the problem?
  • Goes to show really how fickle people have become in that a company that sells overpriced designer goods is now the worlds most profitable company.

I suppose you do have to congratulate apple to some extent that their marketing has been so clever that they have convinced so many people that their overpriced products are so worth it.

I don't quite know how something can be both worth it and overpriced at the same time.

    Logic failure.

Everyone knows Apple products command a premium/are overpriced - now we know exactly how overpriced they are!

When you're stuck in a life of benefits and / or minimum wage employment, it's easy to become resentful of anyone with money.

There is no logic failure it is what it is.

Cleverly apple have convinced people that their overpriced products are must have items. And because people have paid so much for their apple products they convince themselves they are worth paying the extortionate amount for them it's classic retail psychology. Well that and it becomes a boast my phones more expensive than yours etc.

As I've stated many times before apple is a designer brand and status symbol.
