I bought a sony camera before the cashback deadline ended. I bought it from John Lewis on the 24th and the offer ended on 25th at midnight. The cashback was £50. When I got home I filled in the online form with my bank details, camera seriel number and later had an email confirmation.

The next day I got an email saying because they didnt receive the relevant doccuments the Cashback is no longer valid. They said in the email that I have 10 days to send them the info. As I already gave all the details asked on the form I had no notice of any doccuments to enclose. I have replied to the email with a scan of the receipt as proof of the purchase being within the time limit.

I have since had no response. Anyone else had difficulty claiming their cashback ?

  • As there is a 10 day period for the relevant documents to be submitted, I would wait until the end of this time before worrying too much.

When you made the initial application for the cashback, did you send a copy of the receipt showing all of the information that they needed?

did you include a copy of the original receipt with the claim before the deadline as mentioned in point 4?

Well if I wait till the ten days have passed for an answer I will have no chance as the window will be closed.

When I filled in the claim form they wanted my bank details to check the transaction as well as an account to refund the cashback. Nowhere did it ask for any doccument to be sent otherwise I would have done that.

The T&C's require a copy of the original receipt...did you read the T&C's?

Like I said when I claimed on the page, from the cashback link there was no mention of sending a reciept.

    No:4 of the T&C.....
"You will need to include electronically the UK serial number of the product, together with a copy of your original printed sales receipt to claim your cashback"
    Also reiterated in No:9.....

Please fill in your personal details, payment information and add your proof of purchase

The proof of purchase is the receipt. Did you photograph/scan it and send it?
