'Demand for Payment' from Debt Recovery Plus (AS Parking, Perranporth)

Hey, I received a few parking tickets in September, on a holiday in Newquay.

Most were easily dismissed, but 'Athens Security Services Ltd' T/A 'AS Parking' have contacted me RE: a ticket in Perranporth on 18th September.

They sent me a letter with a formal demand for payment on 21st October. I was sure I sent them a template letter back, but can't find it.. so may have not done that?

I've now received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd dated 22nd January, demanding £149 for an unpaid ticket and saying they will recommend to the creditor's solicitor that court action be taken if I don't pay by 5th February 2015.

What are your recommendations?

It goes without saying, that aside from costs, I don't want my credit rating to be affected!

Thanks

    CR will not be affected.

DRP cannot take you to court; AS almost certainly won't.

Re. 18/9 event - was there originally a windscreen ticket? If not then their 21/10 notice was too late to invoke keeper liability.

I'm getting the message that I can ignore the debt collection company..

Can I ignore the original parking ticket company though? Will they be likely to take any action?

I'd very much like to send a picture of an inverted middle finger, in regards to the specific case number, that the debt collection company sent me. Can I do this, safe in the knowledge I can't be in any more trouble?

    Thanks

Yes, there was a windscreen ticket. I have it to hand. Could I say it wasn't there?

Did you email the template or post it? (This is why we recommend getting a free certificate of posting from the PO).

Either way, write back to them with another copy of the template to say you appealed on X date yet they have ignored your appeal. Therefore you deem the matter closed; if AS wish disagree then reject my appeal and send me a POPLA code.

    :)

Thanks for the reminder! I DID send it, on 14th November, via EMAIL!

So I should write back (in writing) to the debt collection company, or AS Parking, reminding them I have already appealed and that I deem the matter closed?

Ignore DRP completely - only deal with AS Parking.

I have a particular interest in that location. Was it the Charity's car park by the beach (Gardens) or was it the Parish Council's?

You could also write back and say that you have been informed that there is a thread on Linkedin where you have claimed never to have given out a POPLA code. Is this why you have failed to acknowledge my challenge of xx/xx/xx.

If I have no POPLA code from you or a cancellation within 7 days, I will ask AOS to investigate and to consider putting your company forward for sanction when I will provide them with the information I have on your activities and false claims. There is a large file already.

I have the papers ready to send to AOS on xx/xx/xx.

    Love and Kisses

    PS Threats work both ways.

Thanks guys! It was the one right in front of the beach, with a stream running past on the right hand side, if looking out to sea (as I recall).

Cool, if others are in agreement, I should do what IamEmanresu suggests?!..

On reflection just reduce it down to
    Dear Sirs

I sent an appeal on xx/xx/xx you did not reply nor did you send a POPLA code. I understand this happens often.

I wish you to cancel or send a code within 7 days. I am asking the BPA to investigate yet again.

    I await your reply.

    Copy to aos@britishparking.co.uk.

No need to stoop to his level of idiocy.
