Starting the month off with £5 from Swagbucks and 99p from Apptrailers. :)
  • I phoned yesterday as soon as I realised my mistake and they have cancelled future DDs but this month's still stands.

    Sympathies, that stings! :(

.. and this may be asking a daft question, but when you said you cancelled it, did you cancel it through Equifax or the bank? I know that once or twice in the past I've had DDs go out that were too high, or in error, and I've got the bank to reverse them/claw them back. I didn't have to give a 'valid' reason as I recall, just that it was something paid/taken out in error. I don't know if every bank do this but maybe worth checking? I think there's about a 24-48 hour window though I can't remember exactly.
    NOV 2014 £151.74/£150 ... DEC 2014 £303.81/300 ... JAN 2015 £143.33/£150

  • Well I have started, I bagged up all of my change and it came to £15!

I'm really pleased with that, I didn't expect it be that much :j
  • Overtime [COLOR£45[/COLOR]

    :j
  • Thanks for that very useful tip, Djelhi-Bhelli. I'll try to make sure it doesn't happen again but if it ever does I'll take your advice about contacting the bank first.

I contacted Equifax by phone and tried to play the 'sympathy card'. After I'd tried that it didn't occur to me to contact the bank:o especially as I received an email from Equifax within minutes informing me that they'd now cancelled my subscription to take effect by the next payment date. I'll just put it down to experience now,it was my own silly fault after all.
  • Two lots of mystery shops done today, £48 and £16 respectively. Also £5 swagbucks. Another £15 mystery shop for tomorrow.

    Feb total = £82
    • Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746
    • Original redemption date: August 2043
    • Current redemption date: July 2041
    • Debt: £15,930
    • Savings: £12,430
  • Will someone please give me a good slap?:o

Applied for a Free Trial of Equifax Credit Report and Score on 1st January via TopCashBack. Stupidly I took my eye off the ball and forgot to cancel until yesterday (one day too late) and a DD of £14.95 was taken yesterday to cover this month's subscription. I phoned yesterday as soon as I realised my mistake and they have cancelled future DDs but this month's still stands.. The TCB cashback is still showing as pending but I know it is one that takes months to become payable. Whether I'll get it now I've cancelled remains to be seen. Even if I do get it eventually I'll still be just over £6 down on the whole deal so I'm really annoyed with myself. Even in the bad old days when I spent money like water I never 'forgot' to cancel DDs etc in time. Now I really need all the extra cash I can get my paws on I go and do something stupid. Could be worse, I know it's just a piddling amount, but it still hurts.

    Sorry folks. Rant over:o

I know how you feel, it's very annoying. My DH did something similar last month. We didn't realise until the DD came out and when I asked him what it was he realised he forgot to cancel...grrrrrr.

The worse part is, I don't think he even used the service he subscribed to more than once.
  • Thank you very much for your commiserations, Lioness. I'm sorry to hear you and your DH have been in the same situation.

At least I've found/am finding the subscription useful. Have checked various things several times and now I even have the time to print things out from it before my access to it ends at the end of this month:j .My printer 'died' a couple of weeks ago and I've been lost without it:o but have now been given a lovely replacement by a kind soul on Freegle.

I'm a bit surprised by the figures in the Equifax report as it appears that I owe my creditors less than I thought I did. Must now sit down and compare totals and SOAs on all the other lists and statements that show me the sorry state of my finances:eek:

    Have a good money-making week, everyone:coffee:
  • Carbootcrazy my DH is terrible for signing up for free trials and then forgetting to cancel them so we pay for them, the latest being Now TV and we hadn't even used it! He drives me mad sometimes lol.

£7 Boots giftcard used yesterday. I also used Boots points to get another £6.60 worth of products for free.
£9.37 used in vouchers in Pound Stretcher.
£14.55 saving by using a Tastecard.
    £7.80 from Prolific Academic.
