How can I go about leasing a used van for my new company?
Hi all,
I'm about to start a new company doing property maintenance, and I'm interested in leasing a used van in order to keep costs low.
I understand that such a vehicle would (most likely) be out of warranty, but I'm willing to take that risk as my priority is to keep initial costs to a minimum. I also understand that, as my company is new, I will likely have to take out lease personally, rather than my company, directly.
Can anyone advise me on the best companies operating in this market? Is there anything like Lings Cars for used vehicles?
Any tips on helping me to get the best deal would also be appreciated.
Thanks.

You may be able to get the company as the leaser but then you give a personal guarantee on the payments due to it being a new company.0

No, it was just that one thing struck me since it's an accepted legal status0 -
I've leased vans before but it was a mistake. Buy a slightly older one on finance. The job you're doing will incur penalties on a lease van when you give it back0

Yeah... Like a van that has already been leased for 2-3 years previously. I understand that leasing a new van is very expensive, so I was hoping that (if possible) leasing an older one would cost a lot less.0 -

Why leasing? Lack of capital? If so, fair enough. If not, could be better in the long run to by a used van. Even if buying involved HP so you own it at the end.
Finance companies don't like new Ltd companies so often ask for a personal guarantee. The guarantor will be credit checked etc.0 -

+1
I'd be buying a used transit. You can buy something usable from £1,000 up
I've had two or three small vans and never spent more than about £600 but had very presentable vehicles.0
