Help Please with Robinson Way

So update is I've now received another letter from Robinson Way confirming a debt via HSBC and an amount that's still due - now also have some original paperwork from 11 years ago from the first DCA which was Metropolitan Collection Services and the account number on the letter from Robinson Way clearly matches up with the one on the aforementioned original.
Strangely on the letter received today from Robinson Way it asks that I CONTINUE with my payments to them on the same monthly amount I've been paying - now I haven't been paying them anything but as my opening post says I was paying a £10 per month standing order to the original DCA (Metropolitan Collection Services) so I'm assuming that's what they are making reference too?
In addition it goes on to say that whilst they want me to continue paying this amount every month they will review in June 2015.
Right at the foot of the letter it says that the account above was assigned from CL Finance (part of the Lewis Group) to Hoist Portfolio Holding Ltd, not sure who the hell they are?
So in essence looks like this all ties in with the debt I believed it related too so should I still ask them for a copy of the signed credit agreement from 11 years ago?
Any other comments or advice based on the above then please feel free as its all helping me very much
Thanks0 -

How much is left to pay? What will your verse be?

£7000 left to pay.
To be honest after paying £10 per month for years and then thought of carrying on doing that seems stupid.
I will potentially be in a position to make them an offer to settle but not sure how much they'd want or what to offer?
Also should I still ask to see a signed copy of a credit agreement or is this now nit relevant?0 -
First thing is to ask for the agreement. Not having it means that court threats are empty and they will know that.
At that point, they will likely settle for much less. Maybe 10-50%.
If they don't give you a figure you like, don't pay. If no agreement, not much they can realistically do.
After 11 years, it's likely it's not available or will take a long time to find.:beer:0 -

Thanks for the advice, I'm going to ask for a copy of the agreement and await their response but in the meantime should I pay the £10 they have indicated they'd like me to keep paying each month until June?
I guess in the main I want rid of this debt and go back to not fretting about it so making them an offer is probably my preffered option but if I can get them to settle for a lot less if they dont have the agreement then I'd be daft not to ask the question0 -
Up to you. Some would advise not to pay anymore until they produce the agreement, which, despite being required within 14 days will probably take a month or two as they will need to ask the original creditor to look down the sofa for it.
You could pay, but companies sometimes ignore agreement requests while they are still receiving payments. If they do this, stop, then when they get annoyed, say where is my agreement.:beer:0 -
The chances of them having the initial contract (agreement) on this lot is small.
They can not stump it up and your luck might be in here.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

Thanks Happy Bunny :-)
I'll request the copy of the agreement and prob pay the £10 just to avoid any further hassle from them0 -

Definitely going to ask them for it and see what they come back with, 11 years is a long time ago.
Am I right in thinking no agreement, no proof it's my debt?0 -

Yes. Only a court can order you to pay, and without an agreement, if a claim is defended, not going to happen.:beer:0
