I wandering if anyone can help.
I work in a hospital and parked in staff parking, I didnt have a permit and got a ticket. Ive read on the forums to ignore as its private land, but today I received a letter from debt recovery plus staing that if I dont pay (which has gone from £30 to £120) they will refer this to a solicitor to consider court proceedings. This has scared me, do I now pay?
Thanks for your help

There are people here who can help you, but you've posted in the wrong section. Try here:

I've had several tickets from parking on private land without paying over the past few years. They'll send you multiple letters that look official and will sound stern, however you must not be bullied into paying them.
Once I ignored the "fine" (which is actually a bill of sale, which you can choose to ignore) they'll increase it a few times saying that you must pay within 14days. If you ignore that they may threaten with debt collectors, but they have no right to come to your house and demand money.
Also remember that if they do not have evidence that you parked the car, they cannot take you to court with it.
Screw it up, throw it away and forget about it!0 -

IGNORE THE NONSENSE POSTED BY ASH above, an mse NEWBIE who fails every basic piece of Forum advice and etiquette.
May have been well-meant, but it is wrong in every particular.

It's not a 'bill of sale' either, but an unenforceable invoice.

Now, you need to read the Newbies Sticky Thread, with closer attention:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822
Also put 'Hospital staff parking' into the main forum Search box [3rd from the right, just above the list of different parking Thread posts, all written by others like you, needing help/reassurance etc.]
Put kettle on. Make a hot drink and settle to make notes/prepare draft for a critique, which you'll post here on your own Thread. Don't hi-jack anyone else's.

Give us some more info.[remove personal identifiers]- how long ago? what correspondence received? Gap between so-called 'parking event' and any letters received?
That'll do for starters, BUT DON'T WORRY. This Forum is full of established experts who freely give hours of advice helping people like you. They all began as you are now.
You've made a mistake in ignoring any correspondence since the law changed in Oct 2013, but you're not the first, by many hundreds on these Threads:-)
Show willing and do some good reading to get a feel for what's necessary on your part. Others will be along to help.

Ash, you're welcome to give advice when you have done the same homework.

You may not have had a permit at the time, but were you entitled to park there?Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0
