Would it be wise to do nothing at the moment and see how things go OR now that there is a strong pound buy now?
This article is, in my opinion, a very bad idea that should never have been posted; It highlights a poor choice most people who read it won't have considered otherwise.
If it was easy to make money by buying and selling currencies at the right time then we could all make a fortune doing it. It isn't, even people who have jobs doing exactly that aren't consistently good at it.
If you are getting currency to spend on holiday then don't worry about trying to time the market. Martin even says he wouldn't try and time buying himself in the article.
Better to get a Clarity card and put the holiday money in a high interest current account instead. Then pay the Clarity off when you get back and pocket a bit of interest instead.

Hotel and flight should be OK, but how do I avoid getting ripped off getting from the airport to the hotel?
I suppose I could wait till retirement and do a cruise, but on-shore excursions are even more of a rip off.
For someone so paranoid about being 'ripped off', I would suggest you stay at home and get ripped off here!
