selling a car on ebay

PLEASE...NO PAYPAL ON COLLECTED ITEMS.
It doesn't matter if you ask for receipts, get photos of the item being collected or do any other thing recommended by a friend, you WILL have the money taken back if the buyer claims he did not receive the car. No argument, no appeal you WILL lose.
As for bank details..perfectly safe for sellers as they cannot be recalled, disastrous for buyers as once paid they are lost for ever. When you give your bank details you are giving people less info that you do when you write a cheque..a cheque has all your bank details +plus+ your signature and the name on the account. To do a bank transfer you don't even need the name of the account holder. All that can happen is that people can fraudulently pay money into your account..if you are worried about the safety of this then obviously you need to give up cheques and debit cards as well..so all you are left with is money under your mattress.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks for backing me up on this point. Some people just can't grasp this concept.
alant1000 and carlos700 - So neither of you have ever written a cheque to anyone? Or what about paying with a debit card? Every time you hand this over to a stranger in a shop, it contains your sort code and account number.0
