Blackberry Curve battery life

Part of the Furniture 10,000 Posts Name Dropper I've been Money Tipped!
I've had a Blackberry Curve for about 18 month which is rarely used (previously had a Nokia 12 year old "brick" whose battery life lasted for ever) and am shocked at how quickly the Curve's battery runs down.

What is their normal life please?. I am charging mine up to full power at night and by midday the following day, even switched off and without use, the battery has run down by 50%. Is this normal? Or do I need a new battery? I've no idea how much they cost. Not very impressed with it to be honest.

  • I used to have a curve, and can say for sure that the battery life exhibited by your device is contrary to my experience.

IMO - you need a new battery. Go to gsmarena.com - check out the reviews/comments on your phone to check the reviews on the specific model

i have an old Blackberry Curve 9320 and i can charge that up and even left on standby will last approx. 2 days, using it i would get 24 hours usage before i would recharge it at approx. 20%. so yes looks like you need a new battery

Most smartphone batteries dont usually last very long, a few days if you are lucky. You could have apps that are running in the background consuming power, which will make things worsw

has the power usage always been the same, or is this a recent thing ?

At least with Blackberry they never fill their phones with hundreds of useless and pointless pre installed apps etc. like Android and Apple, so you have to spend hours disabling most of them
