EE Didn't transfer my old number

Changed from Sky to the super cheap MSE EE deal but they did not transfer my old number over. They say I should have ticked a box but I did not see any box. Now they are being very hard to deal with. Anyone else had this problem?

They are telling me they cannot reserve the phone number,
so I have to call them up as soon as the switch goes through,
and hope that it hasn't been re-assigned.

Third attempt to activate on 29th January.
Previous two attempts failed due to "no one set up my account".

I wonder if the mentally handicapped are exempt from the minimum wage. It is so gratifying that they are leading productive lives.

The broadband and telephone line activated on Thursday.
Rang up EE, and my old number was now free.
They grabbed it, saying it will take 48 hours to restore.

The old number is now back on the EE telephone line.
So, if you are pro-active enough, there is a chance of getting the number back.

If the number was originally a 'BT' number transferred to Sky , then when it went back to BT it was easy for EE to get it ( as the wholesale BT services) if it was always a Sky number and never a BT number you have been quite lucky to get it back
