CY hope everything works out well for DD2's fiance - fingers crossed for him.

    Minerva that is exciting news!

Dusty am I right in thinking you don't get many linnets around? I'm hopeless at knowing birds - I know a buzzard, blackbird, blue tit, crow, robin and magpie and that's about it!

Just walked the dogs which was lovely, done my paid work and got rid of a carrier bag full of carp from the lounge :o.

Can I ask a cooking related question please? I have a thing about meat - OCD - and am scared about using it if it hasn't been done the 'normal' way. Yesterday we defrosted a chicken and DH put it in the slow cooker on low when we went to bed. I switched it off this am but have only now got around to getting it out and separating the meat from the bones etc. The lid has been on the whole time. Will it be OK to use? It was very tender (fell apart) but I'm jittery ..... hate this OCD

    Many thanks :)

  • On the bird theme, we have several birds round by us - pigeons, magpies, crows etc. I like to think they're in a turf war with the squirrels because there always seems to be groups of them loitering round the big industrial bins outside our block of flats. Yesterday I went to take the rubbish out and surprised three (yes three) squirrels and a pigeon!

Elasticmoney - Showing my ignorance and not meaning to offend is Parkinsons the thing Michael J Fox has?

Took DD1 to work then took my parents shopping to Mr A, managed to get a few bits I needed but came home with extras. My mum can't seem to resist 2 for 1's and such. I can't remember the last time I had to buy my own eggs.
Airer rearranged, WM on again. DW also on. I'm just having a quick coffee then I need to phone the garage and book an m.o.t _pale_ I need to pass with the less amount of work possible as my lovely mechanic reminded me a few weeks ago that the timing belt hasn't been done :cry:_pale_ and that's pennies I don't have.
I also have to prepare myself for going as the garage is in the town where nasty ex husband lives. It was me getting the bus over there to collect the previous car after its m.o.t that lead to the last court case :( I'm going to try to arrange to meet my friend or if he's working I'll hang around at his work :( He works the pharmacy at B00ts so there are chairs and I won't look completely weird :o

    Coffee finished, WM finished

    Minerva mortgage-granted vibes for you.:o

I've managed to take a duster round the whole bungalow (dusting round the largest Dragons, I'm afraid); also washed bath towels overnight, so those are on A-frames drying; I've started loading the WM with some of Mr LW's clothes, ready to set it again for tonight. I really don't know how he manages to create so much washing.

Still not getting a peaceful night's sleep at all; the swapping sides idea didn't work - it transpires that he actually lashes out both sides, and it seems it's totally dependent upon how he's lying at the time - we both change position a lot during the night; me because if I stay in one position for long, I start hurting; I don't know why he does it but he does.

Tomorrow I have to visit the post office - it's only 10 mins on the mobility buggy, but I really, really don't want to go.:( It has to be done though, so big girl panties it'll have to be.:D

Thanks for joining me Pigpen - it's nice to know there's someone doing housework at the same time as you!

LW sorry you're still not getting sleep, really rubbish when that happens isn't it. I hope you and Mr LW can come up with a good solution. Hope it goes OK tomorrow going to the Post Office - try to think of it as 20 minutes of nice fresh air maybe?

Wendywitch I hear you re MOT; fingers crossed it will get through OK and that you don't bump into ex. It sounds like a very good idea to meet up with your friend.

Just had some really great news as my Mum has been given the all clear on her second mammogram - it was some scar tissue, not anything more sinister. So relieved; she had cancer 2 years ago and found the radiotherapy very tiring. Her and Dad are coming up to see me Wednesday/Thursday so looking forward to that.

In my HHC (x 2) I chatted to Mum on the phone re above, vacuumed whole house, put another load of washing on after hanging up previous lot, washed up, wiped down work surfaces and cleaned the table. Doesn't look a whole lot really but it all needed doing. Now it's time for the school run - where does the day go?

Hello all :). List appears to be getting longer! No matter, I have just finished my nights and will get on with some jobs tonight (namely a couple of HHIs!).
Have to take DD to a piano lesson now so won't have time for much before leaving here.
Will catch up later this evening. Hope all are well?
