Brilliant! That my main aim is to OP without sacrificing even a spec of fun time! Good on ya for working that out now rather than in 10 years time.
Happy times......well you can't put a price on it.
However sometimes you can get caught out and go home to your happy family....... to find them all grumpy in a bad mood. Feel better tonight after another NSD
I did get to see the LO last night, at about 3am when she ended up in our bed for a whinge/cuddle
Also v chuffed as my neighbour offered to take all the garden [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] useful things which the previous owner left behind the shed. I was going to Freecycle it all when I got a spare weekend but he's offered to take the lot off our hands. Can't wait to get all that clutter gone.
OH has rescheduled his overtime later in the week so I can catch up with some of the girls. He's a good 'un.
4 day countdown til out hols but no idea if we're prepared for it. That's tomorrow job.

Back from our holidays and completely underspent!
8, yes 8!!! Loads of washing now washed, dried (despite the last few rainy days) and almost ironed. Yuk!!
Off work this week so trying not to spend. Managed 2 NSD today and yesterday.
OH did the last of his overtime so he gave me the final £60 yesterday.
All the bank shuffling done. Struggling to keep control (ie the maths not the spending) of the 123 current account. There's just so many money pots sitting in there plus it's my pocket money account. This week's job is to try to sort it out so my spreadsheet equals the account balance.
Set up for a £500 OP this week and possibly have some more (£200?300?) for later in the month depending on what we decide to buy for the garden. We need some new bedding areas and furniture.

Hi MIB!
Hope you had a brilliant holiday - well done on the underspending, super impressive!
Even more impressive is getting all that washing done!

Back to work with the Monday morning mid month blues
Have had a decent two weeks not over run by spending;
highlights
the monthly £25 of fuel lasted 6 weeks. I put another £25 at the weekend using a 8p off voucher.
been looking for bathroom storage (options were ikea - £55 or john lewis £250) we decided not to buy any and just cleared a storage unit in the bedroom of clothes (never been worn for years) and moved it into the bathroom. so zero spending on that!
prescription cert arrived so got a refund on some meds from last month of £32.
Have signed up to the direct debit prepayment cert so it'll only cost me £10 per month instead of £30 for 3 months and then scrabbling around trying to stockpile.
Almost bought a toy box for DD for £125 from n3xt but found another in dun3lm for £25. £125.... what was I thinking?
not so high-lights
gas safety cert due on the BTL. letting agent will sort this year, can't be bothered dealing with it/ringing round/arranging access just to save a £ or 2. need to use the LA more effectively.
car insurance due, £40 higher this year to renew but have got another provider's quote for £40 less plus TCB
have stashed away some money from the Joint account for another OP. Hoping to pay another £200 op by the end of the month.we'll see.
We are going to a wedding in a couple of weeks and have been burying my head in the sand about how much money we'll need.
In other news, am thinking about applying for a new job after seeing one I liked the look of. It'd be a positive move lifestyle/stress wise except for the drop in pay. We'd lose the equivalent of our standard monthly OP. got some thinking to do on whether that's something I'm willing to sacrifice. Haven't even applied yet so the worry is premature.
Hoping for a couple of NSDs this week. Best foot forward

Another highlight - reconciled the sant123 account so my spreadsheet matches the amount in the account.
Took a while but got there in the end :TMFW2020 #5 £2,000/2,000 MFW2021 #5 £1,850/3,500MFW2022 #5 £3.001/3,000Sep'12 £233,750 Jan'15 £222,329 Dec’21 £139,584 MFiT T4 #24 £48k/£34k MFiT T5 #24 £22,186/£41k MFiT T6 #24 £4,700/£29k0 -
Just wanted to say hello and thanks for the kind words of encouragement on my diary.
You are seriously on top of everything at the moment - all the talk of clearing out, gas certificates and prescription payments is making my head spin!!
How on earth do you manage to do so much and keep track of it all? I find I struggling with what's in my bank account let alone spinning as many plates as you.
Your spreadsheet sounds like it is a thing of wonder!!

quick update for the week.
Haven't had an NSD for a while, its been a drip feed here and there. MarmiterulesUK who runs the NSD thread suggested i should rethink what I call an NSD (i.e with allowed spends/pots) Not sure how I'd do that as the budgets are pretty general.... i.e. "joint account spending" and "pocket money" is a catch all for any spending from those two accounts.
Will have a think about it.
The joint account general spending budget has taken a hammering this month. Need to break it down to see why.
The £200 I stashed away for a secret end of month OP is going to dwindle. Not much left in the JA so likely we're going to have to move some of it over.
I do however have £80 left in my pocket money.
OH pretty much cleared his easy access savings account at the weekend by buying me some jewellery for my (big) birthday/giving birth to our DD.
So there we were sitting in the jewellers while i was trying on something I really want but don't need. I almost changed my mind as it felt (and still feels) way too lavish and frivolous.
What has MSE turned me into?:o I just kept thinking, we could buy a new front door with this money.
:D
More positive news, I borrowed a load of potential wedding outfits from a friend so don't have to buy anything new to wear and birthday gifts made up the rest of the outfit.
Just have to get some euros for the wedding card and drinks budget. Hotel and flights already paid for.
On the job front, I have an interview this week for a potential new job. Need to find out if its going to have flexibility for childcare and sufficient job security. I've made peace with the potential drop in pay. The payback would (hopefully) be better work/life balance. nO need to worry until there's an offer.
