  • Well done MIB! Sounds like you've made loads of progress house-wise and well done on keeping the spending under control despite the family being around - always harder to control it!

Great that you're managing some money sweeps into your OP pot too!

Hope you're having a gentle Monday

  • Monday morning again- but much easier with normal PT hours (worked an extra day last week and worn out!)
OH has been paid and transferred his payment into the joint acc. I'm not paid til Thursday this week. £60 to last us til then - might squeeze a little OP out of that. That'll need to cover at least one oyster top up, maybe two.

    Highlights
Have more stuff on freecycle- half already taken and loads more to put on following a (partial!!) shed clearance.
OH got another £60 OT and more again this week
Shopping done for only £40 (incl nappies) instead of the usual £60-80 (not much in the way of goodies in the cupboard tho :-) )
Managed 4 NSDs last week and need only 2 more this week to hit April target

This week I'm going off to visit family again while OH goes on a stag do. I'll be eating from my folks' fridge but lots of catch ups with friends and family often means not many NSDs. Fingers crossed.

  • Nearly pay day for you MIB!

Is it sad to be excited about paydays because I want to OP rather than spend?!

You really cracked on this week - well done on NSDs and savings, and OH's OT is a nice bonus too.

Are you planning an OP this week?

  • Feel like I need to update but not much going on (money wise - it's blumin manic in all other aspects)

Have sorted out this months OP plus there were a couple of extra bits here and there as I wanted to round up to £2800 for the year. Half way target in sight for June.

Have managed a couple of NSDs but little things here and there keep happening, DD is sick so chemist visits needed and a trip to the specialist had fees today (expected and within budget but still a spend)

Had the last of the ISA letters informing me of interest- must tote that up. Need to contact Coventry to see if that's the end of my fixed, or whether there's another year to go.

Visitors expected for the weekend so unlikely to see anymore NSDs til Monday. Will have a go though.

Continuing to chip away and looking forward to our holiday in two weeks time

    Hi MIB,

Thought I'd pop in and say hello! Hope you're looking forward to your holiday and also hope that little one has got over sickness.

Amazing work on OPs - eyes locked on the target!

Looks like your start point is similar to mine.

I like your goals, the way you've broken them down.

I look forward to following your diary.

  • Thanks SR & FB. Hope you're both having good months.

Ambling through May trying to get organised for this weekend's hen do and next weekend's holiday....
No additions to the NSD count as purchasing & prep for those trips has kept my purse well and truly open.
First beach holiday with DD and since before I was pregnant so had to invest in clothes for us both which fit!
I think I'm just about sorted though.

There's still £250+ in the joint account so on track for a good finishing total (ie in credit but ??? How much?)
Oh has done some more overtime, that's £180 so far in May which he's brought in. It's gone in to the holiday/Christmas/birthdays account for now as there'll be a country cottage holiday over the summer which we'll need to save for.

Got an email from our energy provider saying our direct debit review is due. It will definitely go up as our account is in debt by about £650. We used so much more energy the last year, especially over winter as we didn't have DD last winter or anyone in the house during the day (she is looked after at our home) so the heating was pretty much on all day every day from Nov to march. Can't begrudge that tho!

Off to have a read of your diaries While I'm on the train to the airport.

    Have a good weekend

Have a brilliant trip. Sounds like you're on track even with all the added expense, good work on keeping on top of it all.

    Have a great time!

  • Managed an NSD today after an excellent (and not massively expensive) weekend.

Also did a market research session for £45 tonight
But I haven't seen my little girl since Friday and I don't think staying back after work for the £45 was worth missing out on seeing her again (she'll be in bed when I get home tonight)

I think I've just found the balance between OPing and living our lives. I won't be sacrificing time with LO like this again
