SIM only - can I get a rebate?

I've just switched to a SIM only deal, having discovered that my 2 year tariff ended almost a year ago and I could have been on the SIM only deal since then. Instead I've been paying more than double. I am so frustrated. Probably a stupid question but is there any way that I can make the provider give me a rebate for the difference? I've just been chucking money at them for no reason other than my stupidity at not keeping across it! :o

No, you signed up to a contract which is open ended and has a minimum term. At the end of the minimum term the onus is on you to decide to stay on the same plan, upgrade to a new plan with a new handset or go sim only.

It's not for the network to do.
