EBay
Gumtree
Amazon
Preloved
EBid
Viva Street
Friday-ad (I had not heard of this one before today)[/QUOTE]
I haven't tried Viva street but I've tried all the others plus etsy.
The !!!!!! spam was unpleasant, I contacted Preloved and got some nonsense about how buyers are free to make any enquiry they like about my item. When I went back to them and said it was !!!!!! they just said anything illegal should be reported to the authorities but that Preloved do not monitor all emails and members need to be cautious when dealing with strangers.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. So is that all the buying/selling sites? I use EBay for selling generally apart from one item I listed and sold on Gumtree a few weeks ago. Apart from that I listed a few items on Viva Street when they had the offer on with Topcashback but never got any enquiries at all. I've never heard of Friday-ad before you mentioned it just the same as many people will never have heard of Viva Street. Has Friday-ad been around long? I must have a look to see what it's like. I suppose if we all shared these sites on social media and all our friends and family shares them, word would soon get around. It must take years for them to become well used. I was a member of EBay in 2002 but didn't actually use it until 2005. It was all so new to us back then. How have you found Etsy? I had a look at it once but haven't used it yet. Is it a Canadian site as there is something in my head about Canada.
That was a dreadful experience with Preloved and information like that will do their website no good at all so they really need to get their system changed or it will never grow like EBay. TBH I don't think any site will ever compare with EBay now but who knows."For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."0 -
Preloved has had a revamp recently, the messages are like ebay, your email address isn't disclosed to potential buyers. You have an option to include your phone number. I've had reasonable success but you often don't get much response until 10 days when your ad is visible to free members.0

Re etsy, only a tiny percentage of my stock can be listed there due to their categories. However based on the fact that I could only list around 35 items I actually sold 2 things in 2 months which makes it better odds that ebid on getting a sale. However work wise it doesn't pay me to spend time listing unless I can get the sales.
