Moneysupermarket.com does a side by comparison table once you have done a comparison. You have to click on "Show more details".

March 2015 does indeed have £25 exit penalty per fuel, but this does not apply when you switch to another Scottish Power tariff.

    For MY post code:

Compare March 2015 to February 2016:

    Gas 3.421p vs 3.041p
    Electricity 10.58 vs 10.648p

Electricity is indeed more expensive for February 2016 fix, but the gas price is very good.

The standing charge is 14p cheaper per fuel, so I would save 28p per day on standing charge by switching to February 2016. The difference per kWh of 0.068p ( =10.648 - 10.58 ) means I can use up to 200kWh a day before I lose out.

The big saving is the gas, this time of the year.

I have a feeling you don't heat by gas.
  • Hi

Yep and that makes a lot more sense. I am on oil which has dropped 40% or so over the last year so can't complain (though it has quadrupled in the last 10-15 years)!
  • I have checked and scottish power for me on the fixed 2016 deal is still £25 a month dearer than about six of the other alternatives ..and yes when i checked it said there was an early exit fee for SP too...So i am seriously considering changing
  • I am in same boat David my fixed deal with SP finishes end of February..was on their site today and their fixed deal until next March is showing as £25-£30 a month more than the ones thrown up on comparison..so i am seriously thinking of changing to another supplier exit fee or not
  • I'm on a British Gas fixed plan Feb 2015 which is due to run out soon, it says I can switch as long as the new company makes contact within 20 days of the plan finishing, should I start signing upto something now or wait a little longer?

There does appear to be an exit fee. It is towards the end of the document.

My fixed deal ends in July 2015. Im not going to jump just yet as im a low consumer, the worst of the Winter is over and my consumption should start pointing downward at a decent angle soon.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
