Siemens very poor service - any ideas ?

I received a new IQ 700 oven mid December (HB78GB90B).

This worked for Xmas dinner, however one of the buttons stopped functioning a few days later, making it impossible to set temperature.
Annoying enough on a £1000 oven less than 3 weeks old.

Called the service center, they took all the model & fault details , they definitely said an engineer would be there, with the parts to fix it.
The usual some time during the day - need to take a whole day off as they cant say when.
Attempt 1. Engineer cancelled(ill) - 1 day wasted.
Attempt 2. Another day off - engineer turned up - no parts !
Attempt 3. Another day off - Engineer turned up to fix my
microwave ?- wrong parts - no button.
Attemp 4. arranged Another day off - Not totally hopeful !

Rang the service centre for compensation - told I would get a call back.
Suprise suprise - nothing !

Any ideas how to escalate this to get a response & compensation
& even as a last hope - reasonable service.

Recommendation - Avoid !

Very uncharacteristic of Siemens to offer such bad service. Escalate it within the service establishment. Have you tried your retailer or is it some website you bought it off? If the latter, there frankly isnt much hope.

I know it doesnt help, but this belief that buying online is cheapest and the best way to shop, particularly for high value items is disastrous when things go wrong.

Very true. Support your local retailers where possible. People think Theyre getting a great deal off the internet but forget to factor in things like delivery, installing, unpacking, removing old appliance, connecting up etc etc.

also if you buy locally you can get to talk to someone much quicker and they'll come out much quicker too if there's a problem.
  • I have the same Oven (although not fitted it yet). If you are having issues and not getting a good response then post on their FB page or Twitter. You can guarantee a quick response from their marketing and Customer service department as product quality and customer service is what your supposed to be paying a premium for.
