On a train to see my big sis on Friday, I read the Virgin magazine. They seem to have resurrected the good old Passengers' Luggage in Advance concept, so you can send your luggage a day ahead of when you travel. Mind you, they charge by the Kg so I wouldn't expect it to be cheap!

They're calling it Carry My Luggage.

Well so far so good with me - boxes have actually arrived! It's come in from www.helpianeedboxes.co.uk and they're very good quality - worth £30 apparently (seems about right from their website). so yeah if you're looking just for boxes i recommend them!
  • Huh, who was asking for boxes?? Well, I've sent my request to partloads.biz ... wonder how long it takes until I get a response?

Anyway, I find it soooo difficult to specify the amount of stuff I have. Been in this flat for almost 5 years and the plan is to only move with mainly clothes, CDs, books and other small stuff, so, it doesn't sound that much but when I look around I get worried that I'm slightly underestimating my space requirements!

If nobody gets in touch with me I may use unimoveit, too. u2o, do they insist on using their boxes? My, it would mean I'd have to unpack the boxes I got from my local supermarket and to re-pack the stuff in theirs! :rolleyes2

nah they dont insist on using their boxes, you just have to "tick" the box in their online form if you want their boxes, otherwise they'll presumebly turn up on the day you requested them. saying that, i dont know if you get discount for not taking up the boxes though.

i just mentioned it in case someone decides to go with another removals company who dont provide it or go with van-and-man service!

Well - just to update that they've collected my stuff yesterday so so far they're a real company! Very good customer service, guy collecting it was really friendly, van was modern, etc etc. due to be delivered on thursday to my convenience although they wanted to deliver earlier :)
