As has been said it is up to seller now to prove deliver so Be very cautious signing for anything at the door that you are not expecting.
As I mentioned in post 6 you are going to have to wait for your money, seller has to be given time to prove delivery , I thought it was 8 days but would defer to theonlywayisup if they believe it is 3 days.
Keep an eye on the dispute though and let us know if anything at all is added to it.
It has been a while since I filed one, but I seem to recall I could escalate immediately but there was a warning about waiting 3 days to give the seller a chance to respond.
OP, you need to keep your eyes on the case to see when they say you can escalate. And as soolin says, be mindful of anything which is sent to you in the post with tracking. If a seller scams once, he probably will try again in an effort to keep the money.0 -

It's already escalated now, it's waiting for the seller's response. What should I do if a parcel is delivered? Shall I simply not sign in based on the consequences it might bear?0 -
Personally I would refuse the package now in case it contains a brick.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Your statutory rights are not affected.0

So true haha.
Questions for everyone:
Do you think it's likely that I will be refunded?
- I have money saved for bills, and other important things that I need to pay on the 6th of February, but I was thinking to use some of that money to buy a PS4 (this time from a shop or something) before my brother's birthday. What would you do if you were in my situation?0 -

It isn't likely, it is guaranteed. As long as you fit the criteria I posted earlier, you are covered by buyer protection.
If something is delivered and you are there, refuse it *unless you are expecting something else.
If you aren't there and the item is delivered then come back here for further advice, you will still be able to reclaim your money but it might take a bit longer. But I won't complicate matters now in explaining.
All you have to remember is that you must not close the case, no matter what the seller says. Paypal will make their decision and if there is no tracking it will go in your favour and the funds will be returned. You will have to wait until they finish their process.0 -

My only worry here is whether scammer has done something clever with the invoice , we would probably recognise one that was wrong as far as buyer protection was concerned, but I doubt the OP would.
Otherwise this can only be a truly stupid scammer who is just banking on getting the money out and 'safe' before disappearing, leaving paypal to foot the bill, or that the paypal account is hacked. Either way the OP would be covered, but I like to see how the scammer thinks this is going to work.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Indeed, my first thoughts. But hopefully the OP has read through the points I gave above regarding 'how' they paid and it qualifies.
Like you, I think it's one of those silly sellers that thinks they can simply ignore the buyer and withdraw the funds.0 -

Yep, I read the things you've linked to me and I fit in the criteria. But one thing that concerns me is when Soolin said "scammer has done something clever with the invoice". I received no invoice0 -

Went on paypal, clicked on the 'send and request' tab. Selected the 'pay for goods or services' option, entered the email that he gave me and the amount he wanted.0
