Have just recieved my equifax credit report, confused.

I have just got my credit report from equifax, and it has hardly nothing on it. I have two loans, Credit card, savings account, current account - all with Lloydstsb. It shows none of this, is this becasue they don't "answer to" Equifax? All it shows is 2 of the four cc apps that i have made this year! BTW all declined! lol. (bcus i'm not on eletoral role) It doesn't tell me whether I have a good, fair or poor rating etc, it just has my name, DOB and the two cc apps i made. Where is everything else? and how do u find out your whole credit file?Grrrrr that cost me a whole 2 British poundS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hardly anything?
I have two loans,
These may or may not appear on a credit file - depends if the loan company has told equifax about them.
Credit card
Would usually appear unless it is a new card - can take a couple of months to show up.
savings account
Not a credit agreement - won't show up
current account
Current accounts often don't show - mine don't
All it shows is 2 of the four cc apps that i have made this year!
The other CC companies may have used a different credit agency (like experian).
It doesn't tell me whether I have a good, fair or poor rating etc, it just has my name, DOB and the two cc apps i made.
This is normal. the 'credit rating' is made up and doesn't really exist so that is why it doesn't show on your file.
Where is everything else? and how do u find out your whole credit file?
If that is all that is on your report, then that is all equifax know about you.
Grrrrr that cost me a whole 2 British pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A bargain! Equifax would have you pay much more for the same information but presented differently and with a made up credit rating. Also you can get a free report using Martin's tip in his article

You may find that experian have more information about you (another £2 I am afraid). The other agency Call Credit doesn't seem to have much information so you could give them a miss.

I would do the Experian credit report as it had more information on there for me and i found it a lot better then Equifax.

When you apply for credit they either use Experian or Equifax so they both may contain different information

Credit score: Total fiction and does NOT have any impact on if a lender will accept an application for you. It's a mde up number calculated based on thecredit agency's view on your past financial record.
The information you need from the report is there... You're not on the electoral roll... Massive minus for lenders
You have no defaults, missed or late payments - GOOD! that will help you! There is no trace of any other problems or credit agreements you didn't know about - Great no-one has tried to steal your identity and set up accounts in your name...
There is more to a credit report than seeing what IS there... it's the stuff that's NOT there - ie you're making sure the bad stuff isn't there :)

Oh yeah and do both agencies... different companies use different agencies... and Lloyds are notoriously !!!!!! for updating the agencies with your details.... I have had loans/accounts/CCs with them for YEARS and not a peep on my files from them. Made it incredibly hard to go elsewhere when they made a hash of my accounts... but I managed it :)

Another thing to bear in mind is if you have a flat position, or a house name, as it can complicated matters. I have a flat position, and 4 different variation of it on Experians database, and I had to get Equifax to add my address to their datebase as they did not have it, and the building has been here 30 years. If that is the case you might find like I did that the data is all there on their computer is it's just not linked correctly to your address. James

just did my free trial on expirian. This one shows my only two outstanding credit, all the circles are green which means no late paymnets. But i have got like 5 different adresses in the past 3 years, 2 surnames, and im not on the electorol role at my curent address. I have been trying to apply for cc's but 4 have declined me, will it be becuase all the different address? or the fact i'm not on the electoral role?

Yeh, I think creditor will look at moving so often as a higher risk, they might also about the name change but that depends on the reason. If you had got positive information out there you need to get all of the addresses linked together and go to your local Council to get your name on the electoral roll, this will help with future applications. It help to add a notice of correction too. Hope this helps. James
