Hi I'm looking for some help and advise on behalf of my mum, she currently lives in a house with no fixed heating source she only has portable fan heaters and a portable gas fire in her home , she owns her own home but is on a low income and lives with my sister and my sisters boyfriend who are on income support with disability component I was wintering if there is any grants she could get to install central heating in her home, she doesn't have a boiler never had one it gets very cold in the winter and she can't afford to get it done out of her own pocket please help. Thank you.

Does she have mains gas? If so she may qualify for Eco when it comes out again, if not she can still qualify for Eco for an oil or LPG boiler but hardly anyone is actually approved to fit oil or LPG under Eco which is a bit unfortunate.
Another option is renewables where she can get the rhi to help cover the capital costs, a heat pump would prob be most suitable of the renewable technologies available."talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0
