I think some of you may have misinterpreted what has happened in the video, to me, the snow on the screen is from the roof of the car (still not good to set off with the snow on the car).0

I know its a standard line from them but how much investigation does it need? Clearly perfectly reasonable driving with no sign of an offence.....
Thankfully we live in a country where people are guilty until tired and proven guilty hence the wording.
But on side note the offending driver is s tit of the largest magnitude.0 -

Totally agree, although better wording might have been somethig like:
"An offence has obviously been committed, we'll investigate to see if we can identify who the guilty moron was"0 -
From Ask the Police:
Whilst there is no specific offence relating to snow on a vehicle's roof, it is advisable to remove any loose snow before commencing your journey. If it slips over the windscreen, or flies into the path of another car, it could cause a hazard for you or another road user and could leave you open to being penalised for a number of offences, such as 'driving without due consideration' or 'using a motor vehicle in a dangerous condition.'
I read that the police may prosecute for an insecure load.Forgotten but not gone.0 -
In the very cold winter of 3-4 years ago, I was employed as a night trunk driver for a major parcels delivery company. The day drivers only ever topped up the washer bottles with neat water and, for more than a week or two, I was forced to drive from north of London to Merseyside and back with a frozen wash-bottle. I reported the defect, but there was no management response. Some weeks later, the depot manager was working late, and spotted me topping up the wash-bottle with anti-freeze. He laughed, and commented that I was the only one who used the stuff.mad mocs - the pavement worrier0

Do you mean screen wash ?
I was told that anti freeze ( i.e. coolant ) could damage paintwork and the screen rubbers.Forgotten but not gone.0 -

Since they hadn't seen the clip, they couldn't really say any more than they did.0 -

That one doesn't surprise me.
Our fleet manager is ex-Mercedes Commercial mechanic, and she commented the other week that we're one of the few companies that ever used vehicles with winter tires (mandatory, because the vehicles are available for use in Europe) and proper screenwash.
IMO it should be a criminal offence not to use screenwash in winter, but that's just me.
The only thing I am annoyed at with this weather is having to clean the rear plate every few days💙💛 💔0
